Hello poodles!

Thank you SO MUCH for all the kind words of reassurance and support on my last entry -- I do apologize for being rather cryptic (hell, I apologize for writing it all), but I didn't feel like going into details and just had to let something out else I essplode. I'm sure I'll write a proper, detailed entry about just why I was feeling particularly upset this weekend, but this is not that entry. Today is for cheering up, and finding the things in my life right now to enjoy and feel good about. Thus I present to you a list of Things That Make Me Happy:

1) [livejournal.com profile] trukkle has a job interview on monday with a computer wholesale/repair company, which he is almost guaranteed to get, which is fantastic on many levels. The job would give him work experience for college as well as a much needed paycheque, and it would mean I could FINALLY begin filling out all the paperwork for my visa application so I can get on with moving to the UK! Plans would be Back On and life would not end and I could stop feeling so bloody useless and miserable and gahhhhhhh we really need this job. *laughs* No pressure or anything James. ;-)

2) The amazing Peter S Beagle friended me on Facebook! AND HE KNEW WHO I WAS OMG. *spazflail* :D I've met him several times (ComicCon, ORC, and The Return of the King Oscar Party) and shared some fantastic conversations (and lots of laughing!), but I didn't think he could possibly recall me from the hundreds, if not thousands of fans he meets every year. I feel so honoured to be remembered by one of my favourite authors, especially when he's such a charming and wonderful man. Yay me! :D

3) I know this is very silly, but I love my new mood theme. Hee. I feel like posting more just so I can use every mood on the list! *grins* And isn't posting more a Good Thing? Yes, yes it is. :) I think I've written more entries this month than I have in years. Which is probably a bit sad, really. When I first had my journal (in 2002!) I posted nearly every day, about musical performances and London all kinds of fun things, back when I was living in Surrey and had an entirely different life. It's difficult to think on those things without feeling overwhelmed by regret, but my new life will begin soon, and I won't have to feel upset about the life I once had, or the people I thought loved me, ever again. Hurrah. :)

4) I'm going to see Eric Idle again at the Hollywood Bowl next week! WHOOOT.
Have I mentioned lately that I've met all the Pythons (except that partypooper Graham of course), some more than once? Oh yeah. I'm just that awesome. *smug*

5) This post from Cute Overload - ZOMG OTTERS. Happy burbling chirping canoodling utterly mindblowingly adorable otters! *sighs happily* :)))

OMG Possible moving back to the UK?!! That's amazing! And then we can have our Dr Whoathon!! Wowowow, I'm happy for you! UK rules!

That mood theme is fucking immense. I have been meaning to steal it for a while, I'm not sure if it was on your journal I first saw it.. but it makes me wibble.

*hugs you*
Positive journal entries are always a good idea. I'm really chuffed you're feeling a bit better =)

YES! There will be much marathoning and rejoicing :D

I miss England SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO much. I can't wait to move back! The plan is to be there by my birthday in september, but I have no idea if its still feasible. If James gets this job it could be! I will try not to imagine the End of the World is Nigh if it isn't going to happen, but I can't promise anything. ;-)

[livejournal.com profile] dana_cz made my moodtheme, and it is EPIC. I've never seen such a perfectly captured set of emotions, they're all gorgeous and spot on and FUN. Lovelovelove it. DoctorDonna FTW! :D

I'm really pleased I'm feeling better as well. *grins and hugs you up*

Hehe, I like the idea of being hugged up :P

If you make it back for September birthday; both mine and [livejournal.com profile] sunlightdances's is on September 11th =)
I sense epic celebrations?

And yeah, if you don't make it back by that time then it's no biggy, we'll still party it up real big when you do.
(By party, I mean red wine, Dr Who, nibbles and fangirling. Awesome.)

Hee! I know Cassie's birthday is on the 11th, cause mine is on the 12th! OMG THE CELEBRATIONS THAT SHALL COMMENCE IT WILL BLOW YOUR MIND. *gigglesquee* :D

*high fives fellow Virgo* We rule. *beams smugly*

No matter what, we will have a party. I'm turning 30! We must help me forget this momentous occasion with wine, women and song. Or at least much Doctor Who fangirling. WHEEEEE. *giggles*

I missed your last entry so I just went back to read it - I'm so glad you are feeling better about things and yay for the UK plans progressing! :)

My dad has a Monty Python script book signed by Graham Chapman and Terry Gilliam (with a little drawing also!) I won't let him ebay it! I've only ever seen Michael Palin (he comes from the same area as me), he was doing a talk on his Sahara TV series.

*hugs*

WHOA THAT IS SO UTTERLY AWESOME MY BRAIN CANNOT HANDLE THE AWESOMENESS.

*giggles*

Please tell your dad I'm exceedingly jealous!

I saw Michael at a Sahara lecture too! One of my Facebook photos is us from the signing afterwards, holding a photo from the time I met him in NYC for the Full Circle tour in 1998. He was highly amused to think I had travelled 3000 miles to see him again. *grins*

Why not start your new life NOW?

I worry darling, because I think you're even more weight on this move than it deserves. Moving to the UK is not going to magically fix all your problems, you're not going to suddenly stop regretting past things or being unhappy about them. It'll help, oh yes, it'll be great. But all that stuff will still be there in your head and need to be dealt with.

Just...don't see this as a magic fix-it clause, okay? Because that's not how it'll be.

*squidges* Thankyou :)
We're trying to keep it realistic while having hopes, but it's hard to not let it run away with the imagination. The first place we call ours will more than likely be a smidge better than a bedsit, and we'll be on noodles and low-cost food till we're both sorted and she's legal. And all the while, I'll be doing my best to help us both forge good new memories to displace our bad old ones.

From: [identity profile] ashfae.livejournal.com
*hugsback* Oh, it will be better, it'll be much better. You'll be together, and that will make a huge difference. And you'll have tons of lovely friends nearby who can hopefully come visit you and things, and send cookies and pasta and music so you feel less poor. And there will be new and wonderful memories.

But it is an opportunity, not a magic fix-it, so that means it'll require work and effort. I know you know that really, I just always have to play voice of reason. =)

I promise I'm not viewing the move as a magical cure-all, I'm trying very hard not to repeat the mistakes I made last time. Of which there were annoyingly many. *grumbles* But I digress. ;-)

I don't expect 'England' to make everything better, but I do know James very much will. I have no illusions about living well and not struggling to make ends meet, because god knows we will be Very Poor for a long time. But I think James will be able to conjure wonders with our rice cooker and economy tins of beans and spagetti, so I'm not too worried, at least on that front. ;-)

Having a support system of friends nearby will be life-saving, honestly. I can't wait to stop being alone. *hugs tight*

I'm ever so grateful you're my voice of reason Ash. :)

Being with James definitely will make things way way way way better. Yes yes yes. =) Plus support system and readthroughs and shiny England. Whee!

From: [identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com
I CAN'T WAIT TO FINALLY ATTEND A READTHROUGH!!!

Srsly. :)

Although I am, of course, ridiculously intimidated. I shall have to only attend the comedy ones, so as not to disappoint anyone with my lack of convincing pathos and melodrama. ;-)

What a shitty bunch of friends, being all supportive and happy for us like that. Bastards. :D

The voice of reason is always easier to take seriously when it comes from outside, you're helping :) I prefer being the devil's advocate, personally (It's only one biscuit after all).

I know it won't cure anything, or make the bad thoughts go away, but at least James will be there to hold me when things get bad. And make me a soothing cup of tea. :)
