Jun. 17th, 2002 12:56 amSpiderman, Spiderman, friendly neighbourhood Spiderman...
Wooohooo! Finally saw Spiderman on friday (finally? It just came out in the UK! *laughs* I guess it just seems like a long wait...;- ) and absolutely LOVED it. I had no idea it would be so enjoyable - not just fantastic fun but enjoyable because the characters weren't just the normal two-dimensional action film puppets, but complecated people with real problems and neuroses and flaws. Well, as complecated as you can get in this sort of film anyway. ;- ) Everyone should go see it! Go now!
Went shopping with Eyre and Kara on saturday, and Kara finally found a beautiful autograph of her beloved Alan Rickman (on a lovely photo of him as Snape at the Halloween Feast) which made her a very happy bunny. I bought some kitchen supplies and a fabulous Ravenclaw banner (finally some Harry Potter merchandise for the other Houses! There are 3 other Houses besides Gryffindor y'know!) which I will hang above my computer. Go Ravenclaw! *cheers*
Today I met more Ravenclaws from Hogwarts Online - Chris, aka Professor Argumentus, whom I had seen once before (we saw a play of The Hobbit together) and Professor Laffengraff, Head of Ravenclaw, who is in London for a visit. Eyre, Kara and I met them in Leicester Square and did a bit of walking around sightseeing and things, but mostly just talked and had fun being together. I had a great day with them, I hope they had fun with me, even though I had extreme hypermode engaged. *laughs* I know I'm quite a happy, bouncey person, but I wish I didn't get so OTT when I meet new people. Well, its either that or become extremely shy and quiet and don't say a word...I don't know which is worse sometimes. Anyway. :) Today was fun. :)
I'm listening right now to a cd by The Tolkien Ensemble, a brilliant classically trained company of musicans and opera singers from Denmark who have set Tolkien's poetry to music. I can't believe they aren't well known in LOTR fandom, they're fantastic - I wouldn't assume that Tolkien fans would be afraid of classical music, but that's the only reason I can think of for why the Ensemble aren't famous and why every Tolkien fan doesn't have their albums. They even make Tom Bomadil's song interesting. *chuckles* (It helps that the soprano who sings Goldberry has a stunningly beauitful voice. ;- )
Goodnight Nevviefans! : )

I apologize in advance for the confusion and silliness contained in this message...
Date: 2002-06-16 11:05 pm (UTC)Chrysti and Arwen are in a state of complete Michael Jackson-sighting envy and are arguing over the truth in the rumor that something on his anatomy was fake...they can't decide if it's his toenails or his tassle (Celeborn is slow, and didn't quite understand the meaning of this, but is merely relaying the message).
Arwen wants Haldir to come back so she can replace his floppy bow, as it is starting to get a bit scraggly. Also, she is in need of a new inhaler, so we are trying to find one before the next meeting.
Chrysti *sobs* over the fact that Haldir might have gotten a life, because after his pedicure he had soft feet, and chicks dig soft feet.
Celeborn figures he should probably leave soon, as his IQ is starting to become contagious and the intelligence in the chat room is dropping rapidly with every passing moment.
Wish you were here!
