Dec. 31st, 2002 04:40 am151 people have listed me as a friend.
Wow. :)
Who are all you guys?? *laughs* Seriously though, I am pleased and honoured to be so interesting to so many people. Go me! :D
Yesterday I watched Jack and the Beanstock: The Real Story, which was an intriguing, if flawed modern interpretation of the faerie tale. It made me nostalgic for Charles de Lint's brilliant Jack of Kinrowan, which is a marvellous modern faerie tale, and my favourite of his books. They should have made an adaptation of that, instead of another convoluted Hallmark adventure. I am, of course, very happy that there is now such interest in faerie tales and urban fantasy -- I think the entire world is wishing for some magick in their lives right now. I just wish the productions were a little better. *G* (Having said that, Hallmark did make the 10th Kingdom, which is rollicking good fun. :)
I received four christmas cards in the post this morning, which was a welcome surprise. One was from my sister, whom I haven’t seen in 4/5 years and never writes me, so that was a bit shocking -- she included a picture of my two nephews, one of whom I have never met and looks frighteningly like her husband. I wonder if Zack, the eldest, even remembers me. One was from
scarletmacaw, thank you so much for the lovely card! *squishes*
eyre_lasgalen sent me a Simpsons card and lots of love, which is really the best present one can get. *grins and hugs her lots* And last but certainly not least, my ickle sis
shortypenguin sent me a card, addressed to 'Mrs Wagner.' I nearly snorted up my breakfast when I saw that, she's such a cheeky minx! * sniggers* (Mmmmmmmmm Kurt. Like the new icon Meggers? Amanda truly is the luckiest bitch in the world. ;-)
Would you like to read something amusing? Check out the chaos I caused on this thread in
lordoftherings. Bwahahahahaha! :D
Before I forget, please welcome new friends
pervymerrylust,
ultemys and
ragdoll, and here's to surpassing the big 150! Woohooo! *applauds and cheers*
Look at this brilliant shirt! Someone PLEASE buy me this shirt! *giggles*
The next time I write it will be 2003. How utterly terrifying. *giggles* What have I done this year? Nothing of any importance it seems. I can't believe the year is over. Where did it go? I wish I could say I've done something momentous, or at least memorable to make me remember 2002 with wistful nostalgia, but I honestly can't think of anything, except perhaps the wonderful time I spent with my best friends,
eyre_lasgalen and
wreibyn over the summer. And discovering a true soul mate in
trukkle. Oh, and rediscovering my beloved
ashfae.
Hmmm. Actually, I suppose that is rather important, isn't it? :)
A very happy New Year to you all. Let's hope 2003 is full of all the best Hobbity virtues -- love, laughter, and all the food you can stuff in your mouth without puking. *grins*
