Guess who hugged Sir Ian Mckellan tonight!

That's right, ME! Wooohoooo! :D

I posted the info to [livejournal.com profile] lordoftherings, click here to read all about it. And you might enjoy clicking here as well, to see more evidence that Nevvie likes causing havoc in this community. *laughs*

In other news...I have decided to refrain from being political on my journal. It doesn't suit me, and I don't like the way it upsets my friends. Plus it brings out the trolls -- Hellooooooooo trolls! *waves* I had no idea there were strange people reading my journal without my knowledge. I suppose I should be flattered. *G*
But just so we're clear -- you will still have to endure some environmental ramblings (SAVE THE KAKAPO!), because it's my journal and I'll preach about saving the planet if I damn well please! So there. :) (Being eco-friendly just more me, and I'm sure it's alot less controversial, so I think I'll stick with what I know, and more importantly, what I like.)

Welcome new friends [livejournal.com profile] cacklebang, [livejournal.com profile] drownedangel and [livejournal.com profile] mmulberry! Damn I'm popular. *laughs* Too bad it's only online. I'd give anything to have the same success making friends in the 'real' world as I do online. Ah well.

I have no idea why I am still awake at this ungodly hour. Perhaps I am still feeling giddy from my date with Ian. (HA! If only...;-)

And now, because I can't remember any of the other things I wanted to say, here is a funky quiz by [livejournal.com profile] eibhinn.

1) What are your three favorite Non-LOTR movies?

Hmm. Wargames, Monty Python's Life of Brian, and The Last Unicorn spring instantly to mind. But there are so many others...

2) What are your three favorite bands or artists?

Tori Amos, The Divine Comedy, The Beatles

3) What are your three favorite semi-obscure bands (don't get nearly the attention they should)?

The Young Dubliners!! The Divine Comedy, Moxy Fruvous

4) What book, if any, are you reading right now?

Re-reading the Griffin and Sabine trilogy by Nick Bantock.

5) If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

Either Christchurch, New Zealand, or a beautiful ivy covered cottage in the Cotswolds, one of the most beautiful areas of Britain.

6) What is your most prized LOTR related possession?

My 'Hobbits at Weathertop' photo signed by all four sexxxxxy Hobbit boys. Mmmmmm.

7) What is your most prized non-LOTR related possession?

A tie between my 1st edition Mostly Harmless autographed by Douglas Adams (which I used to hold and comfort me when I was feeling sad or lonely) and my 1st edition Good Omens signed by both Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

8) What is your talent (you're allowed to be full of yourself)?

I couldn't pick just one talent! *giggles* I have an absolutely bottomless reserve of useless knowledge that I am liable to use at any moment. (The largest animal ever found inside a snake was a fully grown tiger inside a reticulated Python. See? Did you really need to know that? ;-)

9) Pimp a CD.

Promenade by The Divine Comedy.

10) Pimp a book.

Tourist Season by Carl Hiaasen.

11) If you were a member of the Fellowship, which would you be (most fitting to your personality)?

I AM PIPPIN! :) No, really, I am. Ask [livejournal.com profile] eyre_lasgalen, [livejournal.com profile] wreibyn or [livejournal.com profile] ashfae. They've lived with me, they know. I really am exactly like him.

12) Favorite LOTR actor/actress.

Billeh. Although I've been an Ian Mckellan fan for many years.

13) If you had to pimp three journals, whose would you pimp?

How can I choose just three!

[livejournal.com profile] sillypants because she is so delightfully playful and, well, silly. :)
[livejournal.com profile] trianne because she cracks me up and everyone should love her.
[livejournal.com profile] ashfae because she is a Goddess and I love her so very much.

You hugged him?? *faint* How wonderful ^~ How was the play?

I did indeed! I gave him a big squish, and blinked just as the picture was being taken. *chuckles*

The play was alot better than I thought it would be -- I knew that Ian would be marvellous of course, but I don't like Strindberg very much, and so was pleasantly suprised by how humourous it was.

I haven't read the actual story yet but OMG! I am exceedingly jealous of you! I have loved Sir Ian since before he was a kniiiiiiiighet and saw him as Salieri in the original Broadway production of Amadeus (which is also before he was Out so I thought maybe some day I'd have a chance. If only...!) That's absolutely fanbloodytastic. You are such a lucky girl and so is he for getting to meet you. :)

>You are such a lucky girl and so is he for getting to meet you.

Eeee! *blushes shyly and shuffles feet*

I wish I could have seen him in Amadeus! (Which is, incidentally, one of my all time favourite films.) Aiii, he's such a lovely, lovely man. :)

Früvous *and* Nick Bantock? You rock! *swells up with Canadian pride* Another good book, from the same publisher as Bantock, is Barbara Hodgson's The Tattooed Map. I also recall hearing that Barbara is Nick's wife, but eh, I could be misinformed. But it's a good book, sort of similar to Griffen & Sabine in the sense that you're left wondering just what is really going on.

Yayyy Canadians! So many good things come from your fair land. I'd move right away, if it wasn't so damn cold. ;-)

I think I've heard of The Tattoed Map, I shall have to find out more about it. I love love Nick's books, they're all so intriguing and utterly original, not to mention absolutely gorgeous. :)

YOU! *pouncetackleglomps* :D

Gosh. Blast from the past on my journal. *laughs*

Your icon frightens me. And yet...I can not look away...;-)

Storyteller is such a brilliant episode, I'm sooooo happy I was able to download it so quickly. I love Andrew and his elaborate fantasy world, he's just too adorable. Plus he makes me seem postively normal. *grins*

I have since read the story and it's lovely! He sounds like a delightful man. Can't wait to see the piccy either. :)

He was so great in Amadeus. I like the play so much more than the film. It was definitely a black comedy. The film is good but it's just not as darkly funny. I know Peter Schaeffer (or is it Anthony? I'm always confusing the two of them!) revised the script before it was launched again a few years ago. I'm sorry I missed that production esp. since David Suchet was in it.

I'm still so excited that you met Sir Ian though! :)

*HUGS* You lucky girl. Meeting Ian McKellen!

I'm sorry that people can't take it when people get political on their own journals. As for trolls, they're crazy.

*giggles and points at your icon*

Ian was in a big rush, so he didn't have time to give a long, luscious hug -- but you can tell that he would be very good at it. Lovely arms, dontcha know. *grins*
