Gasp! It's a NevviePost!
Aug. 28th, 2003 08:15 pmHalloooooooo! *hugs everyone and raspberrymuffinkisses the special few* ;-)
Lets see, what interesting things have been happening since my last entry...
Most importantly, since my last post
jrivka,
hjartad,
mirabehn, and BILLEH have all celebrated birthdays! HAPPY HAPPY BIRTHDAY DARLINGS! *throws confetti in the air and smothers you in birthday kissies* *shags Billeh for the best present ever* ;-)
I went to the local Renaissance Faire (on the same day as Neil Gaiman! We are so psychically linked. Now if only I can work on the physical part...) and mostly enjoyed myself. No one would acknowledge my presence because I wasn't in costume (bosoms bosoms everywhere!) until I found a delightfully bawdy folk group rehearsing with the Guild of the Brethren of the Bottle, and starting singing along with a few of their songs. They were very impressed that I knew their repertoire and invited me to see their show, and I got talking with the Guildmaster who invited me to join their next guild meeting in September. Wheeee. I also bought a gorgeous green chemise with lace trim and bellsleves that I look fabulous in -- I know it's supposed to be worn with a bodice over it, and I will get one, but I think it looks amazing just on it's own. I actually like the way I look in something, how marvelous. *G*
I joined the Cypress Masterworks Chorale, which hopefully will be fun. The first concert is in October, and we're performing Carmina Burana. Glee!
The ants are still destroying my life with their stubborn refusal to get the hell out of my flat. I spray so much crap I'm making myself sick, and yet everytime I think I've got them all, BOOM! More ants. Arrrrrgghhhhh.
Still no job. Sigh.
Highlander episodes have been all Methos, all the time! YES!
Also, Inuyasha is back. YES!
Also also, the episode of Family Guy that parodies Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory made me laugh so hard and so long I actually fell over and rolled around on the ground. Twice.
A new 'High Quality Low Price' Japanese resteraunt opened on my high street, and the cutest Japanese boy works there. Well, geekycutest anyway. It opened last week and I've already been 6 times. I think the boy must be sick of the sight of me. *laughs*
Oh! And just today my high street was featured in the L.A Times as being a great place to hang out and enjoy a 'friendly atmosphere' where everyone knows each other and such like. Neat, huh?
trianne,
brandybuck and
eyre_lasgalen all sent me goodies! I just love receiving things in the post, especially when they're from people I love. Thank you thank you. :))
I think that's about it for now. I promise I will have a working computer soon, so I won't leave you alone for so long anymore. You guys are the best. :)

Date: 2003-08-29 06:00 am (UTC)Ants suck. Highlander doesn't. *g* I am so going to download episodes! I also liked that spin off series, Highlander the Raven.
Ooooh the Carmina Burana ROCKS, Carl Orff is a genius! What a nice thing to be singing! I miss having song lessons and choir!
Well, see you laters :)

Date: 2003-08-29 06:37 am (UTC)Think it's great that you're getting involved with chorales & guilds & such. Meeting people who know bawdy songs can never be a bad thing! It's making me sorry I missed the Renn Faire (again)--if nothing else, I want a dress like that!
And, mmmm, Methos...?

Date: 2003-08-29 02:52 pm (UTC)I am jealous of many things on this entry, (admittedly not the ants. Issues.) especially the choir related shenanegins. A friend of mine once told me that Carmina was all about sex. Are you able to confirm this?!

Date: 2003-08-29 02:53 pm (UTC)I certainly hope so!
It's actually quite easy to sing (at least, when you're a harmonizing alto ;-), but damn does it sound incredible. Swooooooooon. :)

Date: 2003-08-29 02:56 pm (UTC)It is indeed!
Carl Orff set to music bawdy poetry found in a monastary written during the Middle Ages. It's all about fornicating under the moon and going down the pub and shagging the local tavern wench. *grins*

Date: 2003-08-29 07:00 pm (UTC)i love music like that. that sounds really really good. and then it's so easy to sing. i'm so in love with my opera theater class for that reason. :D

Date: 2003-08-29 07:12 pm (UTC)Sorry, I´m rambling... Anyway, let´s hope that your choir do as good as that or better. :)
