I know, it's only been three months since my last entry, what could I possibly have to write about? Well, rather a lot, actually. *grins*




Firstly and most importantly... in three weeks I'm going to be in the UK! YAAAAYYYY!!

My dearest ashfae is marrying randomchris in Edinburgh, and I can't wait to go back. Sadly it's only for two weeks, but it's a start -- besides, Ash has promised to lock me in her closet and keep me forever and always, so I guess I'll just have to stay a bit longer. ;-)
I'll be in London (well, staying near Heathrow with the everwonderful evil_nick and mirabehn) from 6 - 10 March, and on the 11th we leave for Scotland, where I'll be at least until the 15th. I leave on the 17th, and I want to sneak in a night with trianne before then.

Soooo.....who wants to meet me? YOU KNOW YOU WANT TO. *grins impishly*

Also, if there's anything American friends want from the UK (and vice versa) just let me know and I'll be happy to find it for you. Except of course Prince William, because I really don't think I'll be able to get near enough to stuff him in my suitcase. Sorry. *g* (OMG I'M GOING TO LONDON SQUEEEEEEE!)

Let's see...I attended the One Ring Celebration, which was just brilliant -- I saw Billeh again, and saw Dom, Sean and Elijah for the first time, met some fantastic new friends (*waves!*), spent time with my beloved Trish and her OTP water_vole, fell even more in love with Guy, the bassist from World Without Sundays, laughed a lot, did some very silly dancing, and generally had the best time. I would go into more detail, but my actual stories are nowhere near as interesting as other peoples, and I don't have any pictures as my camera was stolen on the first day (I still can't believe a Ringer could be a thief. The very idea shocks and disturbs me) except this one, taken by mailea, of me and the incomparable Peter S. Beagle, whom I basically 'hung out' with during the Con. Because I'm just THAT COOL. Bwahahahahaha. ;-)

Work is rubbish at the moment, and I'm loathing every minute of it, hurrah. It's tedious manual labour punctuated by periods of intense frustration at the hostile work environment (my two fellow freelance employees are a disgrace; one's a cruel bastard who does nothing but insult me to my face and stare at the wall instead of doing work, and the other is a drunken fratboy idiot who talks of nothing but getting drunk with his millions of friends, and is the antithesis of everything that is me) and extreme lack of respect and future prospects within the company. I work at between 45-55 hours a week, and I have nothing to show for it, except sore muscles, a bruised ego, and a somehow diminishing bank account. The only enjoyable aspect is being able to watch episodes of Lost two weeks before the rest of the world (next week's episode sucks people -- you have been warned) and occasionally previewing scenes from movies we're working on, like Wallace and Gromit and The Pink Panther. We're also doing the new Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy film, so I'm trying not to quit before I get a chance to see it. Heh.

I know there's so much more to say...but I'm sure you're all just pleased I'm back, so I don't need to waffle on forever. I never really went away, I'm just going to be a bit more visible. I promise. *squishes for everyone*



PS -- I love Neil Gaiman more than words could ever convey. That is all. :)

Hello! I met you at ORC, albeit very briefly. :D Aaaaaand - I live in the UK - well, sort of. Actually, I'm in Jersey in the Channel Islands, but I'd consider popping over - only thing is, it'd have to be on a weekend, because I work Mon-Fri. Are you free some time on a weekend? I don't mind if it's Scotland or London, I have friends in Edinburgh and family in Glasgow and I love London, so anything's good! :) Glasgow'd be quite nice for me though because I need to visit anyway, and I'm in London in a couple of weeks time ... but whatever's easier really. So if you fancy it, let me know, so I can go about booking something, if I can.

I'm not entiiiiiiirely certain yet, though - I just thought I'd let you know for when you're making plans and what have you. :D

On Friday I hung around the table where he was signing books for a long while, and we chatted for a bit (he remembered me from ComicCon! I was thrilled beyond words) and I basked in the glory that is The Beagle.
Saturday night was the party thingy, and he came to my table and we talked even more, and I got to playfully thwap his arm several times, and make him laugh, and we talked about all sorts of random things, just like we were old friends. It was amaaaaaaaaaaazing. *blissful sigh* :)

I work for Technicolour, the top post production company in Hollywood, and we do most of the film transfer/colouring/dubbing etc for all the major studios. One of our most important new shows is Lost, and I'm mildly friends with the man who is in charge of removing all the dirt from the film (I know, so exciting huh) so I get to sit in when he's working and see the episodes early. Go me. *beams proudly*

Actually, it's the Boomtown Rats Greatest hits DVD although the new Rats reissues wouldn't be turned down if you can find 'em cheap. (Amazon.co.uk has 'em for £8 each) I'd especially want Tonic for the Troops or Fine Art of Surfacing. I'm still hoping that they'll release them in the States at some point in the near future. They should never have been out of print anyway.

Hee -- I've been having a bunch of odd dreams about Unca lately. The last one was last week - something about him writing me long snarky emails because of my entry to a contenst on NeilGaiman.com which he thought was particularly funny. LOL I can't wait for Anansi Boys.
