I'm so excited!

Not only did I see my idol, the writing genius that is Neil Gaiman on tv tonight, but I also made a new friend whom I'm going to meet at Neil's signing at Harrods tomorrow! Wooohooo!
[livejournal.com profile] storme and I posted to the [livejournal.com profile] neil_gaiman community at almost the exact same time, we started talking and found out we're both going to the Foyles reading in London on thursday, and I convinced her to come to Harrods tomorrow as well. So much Neil, so little time...(Mmmmmmmm Neil....*giggles*)
I can't wait to see him again, it's been a while since my last reading/signing, and although I'm more than a little miffed that we can't bring the illustrated American versions of Coraline to sign, it doesn't really matter -- I'll just be happy to be in the same room as my hero. :)

And I swear I don't just like Neil Gaiman because he's totally cute. *lol*
(Although of course he is. And he has the best speaking voice in the world...*swoon* ;-)

I am also pleased to announce that my dear friend Crystal finally got a Live Journal -- welcome to wackyland [livejournal.com profile] lady_luiniel!

Lets see, what else to say...I'm surprised that so many people have signed up for my History of Middle Earth class at Hogwarts Online. No one was really mentioning it on the forum, so I just assumed there was very little interest. I forgot, of course, that my entire House (Go Ravenclaw!) is obsessed with LOTR. *grins* I just hope people won't be disapointed. I'm sure I can make it an exciting class. If I can get the lessons done in time of course. *laughs*

I leave you now with what is quite possibly the best quiz I have ever seen -- I just LOVE my result! Wheeee! :D

aaaaaaaahhhhhhhh

As i already wrote in [livejournal.com profile] neil_gaiman, i could almost hate you. But seeing that it's a kind of sharing (after all, a genius known by only one people isn't really productive, see the case of "The confederacy of Dunces", written by John Kennedy Toole, which remained his only novel for lack of acknowledgment before he commited suicide and which is a "must-read"), you're all forgiven :'(

I'll settle with my Amazon treats which arrived today and may contain Mr Punch, and Arlequin Valentine... can't wait to be at home :p

have a good time

I just wanted to point out...

I've never heard of Neil Gaiman. What books that are good has he written?

EVERY book he's written is good. And he has the awards to prove it. *grins*

My favourites are Neverwhere (of course) and Good Omens, co-written with Terry Pratchett.
He's also written Stardust (brilliant adult faerie tale), American Gods (mythic fiction and Top Ten Bestseller of last year), The Day I Swapped My Dad For Two Goldfish (extremely cute children's book), and his new book is the incredibly spooky award winning Coraline.

Neil's most famous for being a writer of graphic novels, The Sandman being his best and most influential work. Love the lovely Neil, yessss precioussss we do. :D

All the books [livejournal.com profile] angelislington mentioned are good, but I would also include his short story collection, Smoke and Mirrors. Has two of his best stories ever (Snow Glass Apples and Murder Mysteries), and I've found that it's a good way to introduce people to Gaiman.
