Nov. 3rd, 2002 04:50 pmI just watched the live webcast of the Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets premiere in Leicester Square. Am absolutely kicking myself for not going -- if I had known there would be a grandstand so I wouldn't have to stand all damn day of course I would have gone! And it seems that the people in the front row had only been there for about two hours, so I wouldn't even have had to be there at 5am to get a good place. Grrr. Should have gone. Grrrrr. *kicks self hard*
Anyway. :) The webcast coverage was quite good, lots of interviews with important people like Jo Rowling and Danny Radcliffe. Very disappointed there were no interviews with Alan Rickman or any of the Weasleys (except for Ron of course), especially when they stopped to talk to nobodys like Patsy Kensit. Who cares about Patsy Kensit! Gah. All the boys looked exceedingly good, especially Christian Coulsden, who plays Tom Riddle, and ickle Rupert Grint, looking cute as can be with his squiffed hair and cheeky grin. And I've just remembered that I still don't have my tickets yet! Aiii! I'm such a bad fangirl. *G*
I can't believe the year is almost over. Not so long ago it seemed like November would never come, and now its here, and soon December and all it's goodness (TTT!) will be here, and then 2003! Aiya, who knew a year could go so quickly? :)
Was very excited last night to find that the (in)famous
monkeycrackmary added me to her friends list! Go me! (People think *I* have alot of friends -- you should see hers! She could raise an army with the number of people who have friended her. *laughs*)
Because I don't really have much else to say (weekends are so boring), here is a charming Alphabetical quizzy. :)
A - Age: 25
B - Band: The Beatles!
C - Choice Of Meat: Salmon
D - Dream Date: I'm not sure if I would like something tremendously romantic, like a candlelit dinner and walk on the beach, or something delightfully geeky, like watching Lord of the Rings and talking about our favourite books for hours. I'm so sad, I know. :-P
E - Excites You: Meeting famous people I admire is exciting! And making new friends. :)
F - Favorite Food: Sushi, thai food
G - Greatest Gift: Tranquility. I need some.
H - Happiest Day Of Your Life: Hmmm...when John Cleese hugged and kissed me on my birthday, that was fun. *G*
I - Internal conflicts: Oh god yes.
J - Jealous: Not so much jealousy as envy. I am guilty of being an extremely envious person.
K - Kool Aid: That big jug with a face on it scares me.
L - Love: Gimme some sugar, baby!
M - Most Valuable Thing You Own: Hmmm...probably my kickarse home entertainment centre (widescreen tv, surround sound, dvd, etc), but in terms of sentimental value I'd have to say my 1st edition Mostly Harmless signed by Douglas Adams and by 1st edition Good Omens signed by Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.
N - Name: Nevvie of course :)
O - Outfit I Love: Black peasant top with my new deep purple velvet trousers! Wheee!
P - Pizza Topping: Double pinapple or chicken, sweetcorn and olive.
Q - Question I want to ask: Why do I always feel so alone?

T - TV show: Buffy the Vampire Slayer, Stargate: SG-1, Star Trek: The Next Generation, Scrubs, Family Guy, The Simpsons
U - Unique habits: My wonderous abilitiy to OBSESS completely over something and never think of anything else -- for at least a week. Then I move on to something new. *grins*

W - Weather I Love: Perfect spring days, when it's sunny but not hot, with a light breeze in your hair.

Date: 2002-11-03 09:16 am (UTC)It said it was over? I noticed that after about 2.20 it did show a nessage saying 'Did you miss the Premiere?' but if you still clicked on the play button you could see the action.
But you're probably right, I'm sure hundreds of thousands of people were logged in all wanting to see the show.

Date: 2002-11-03 09:29 am (UTC)If so, that would suck, because I love Alan Rickman and think he's perfectly suited for the Snape role.
Btw, where is this webcast at? Is it still archived? Is it a UK only thing? This is the first I've heard about it.

Date: 2002-11-03 09:33 am (UTC)AR might not be in Azkaban?? NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! *sobs hysterically*
Az is my favourite HP book, and not having AR in it would be torture! It'd make the film terrible! No, it cannot be!
*weeps and hides from the cruel, cruel world*
The webcast was at harrypotter.co.uk, and anyone could have seen it, you didn't need to be in the UK to watch. Its not still on, but I'm sure the best bits will be archived there soon.

Date: 2002-11-03 09:42 am (UTC)Yeah, I knew about Zoe Wanamaker quitting, she didn't make a secret about it or anything. I saw her in a play last year, and she was marvelous, I did think she was a perfect Madame Hooch. But losing Alan...oh, I don't even want to think about it. *shudders*

Date: 2002-11-03 12:18 pm (UTC)Why don't you have any icons of Door, hmmmmmm? *eyebrow arch* I'm sure there are screencaps from 'A Knight's Tale' of her as a spunky blacksmithy person. Oooh, now I want a Door icon. *wanders off*
Also, hullo. I'm infamous, am I? News to me. I thought I was just sort of rambly.

Date: 2002-11-03 12:23 pm (UTC)Door was in A Knights Tale!? OMG NO WONDER THAT BLACKSMITH LOOKED FAMILIAR! *gobsmacked*
*laughs* I'm so pleased you even know who Door is -- I had to put Richard's name on his icon, because I'm sure most people wouldn't have a clue where he was from (although even now they probably still don't ;-).
I do have a very nice picture of Door, I think I shall make it into an icon forthwith. :)
Aren't you infamous? I assumed you were, what with FDIFF and PGY and various other things being so popular. *grins*
How did you find me anyway? I love knowing how people stumble upon my journal. :)

Well, I have a blue and grey (movie colours) scarf, a Ravenclaw shirt, a whole lot of badges and stickers, and of course a pointy hat.
Anything else you need help with? :)

Date: 2002-11-03 04:28 pm (UTC)My Ravenclaw shirt is a promo item handed out on the day of the Philosopher's Stone premiere, and I got that from Ebay. It came with two Ravenclaw pins, nice little metal ones. I bought the other badges and stickers from the Warner Brothers store. A pointy hat you can buy at any costume shop. My wand is made of rowan wood, to protect me from bad magicks, and I made it myself. (I call it a wand..its just a stick really. ;-)
