Light up the mic like a Simaril!
Jan. 15th, 2003 05:25 amBwahahahaha!
Everyone who hasn't done so already must GO HERE and listen to The Lord of the Rhymes, I guarantee a most surreal experience and you might even laugh your arse off. Or at least snort loudly at a certain line about being a dwarf. Hehehehehehe.
Am trying not to think about the fact that my debit card was eaten at a cashpoint yesterday, I'm overdrawn on my credit card and I have no money in my checking account. Nope, not worrying about it at all...*whistles innocently*
Did you hear the news? Timothy Spall is going to be Peter Pettigrew in Prisoner of Azkaban! Yayyyyyyyy!
Okay, I know most of you probably have no idea who he is, but he's a fantastic British actor and will be the most perfect Wormtail. Visual evidence can be found here and here. I'm so excited about Azkaban, I know it's going to be fantastic, because the director knows and understands the true magick of childhood -- his first film was the astonishing A Little Princess, which sadly no one saw because of the title, but is truly a masterpiece. Go watch it now! :D
I finally got my pictures which have been lingering in the camera for months developed, so now I have to scan: a few of Anthony Stewart Head looking very cute in a checked shirt, some very silly rehearsal photos, various people at an LJ meetup, an exceedingly cute picture of
trukkle,
cubey and
timmypup, a few very poor quality pics from the Two Towers premiere (although I do have the SWEETEST picture of the beautiful
trianne), and a very, very bad picture of me with Michael Palin. Will try and do that within the next few days. Honestly. *G*
And speaking of pictures...
eyre_lasgalen posted some pictures from her visit to England with
wreibyn, and as there are quite a few of me there as well I thought I'd post them here for your viewing pleasure. *grins*

Wreibyn, Nevvie and Eyre on a London bus on Canada day!

We are soooooo cute!

Eyre and me at the great Roman bath, in, surprisingly enough, Bath. I love this picture.

Me and Kara in a tour bus over looking beautiful Bath. It's a shame this picture doesn't do justice to the spectacular sight below us.
And finally...This picture is too big to post here, so just click me instead.
It's Eyre, Kara, two lovely Ravenclaw girls from Hogwarts Online, an ex-boyfriend and a Texan. Oh, and me. And if you couldn't guess, we're at the London Dungeon. *grins*

Date: 2003-01-14 09:38 pm (UTC)I am one of the few who finds Timothy Spall a most compelling actor ... almost creepy yet unforgettable.

Date: 2003-01-14 09:50 pm (UTC)You know him! (What am I saying, of course you do. *chuckles*)
I think he's marvelous, so versitile and absolutely compelling, just as you said. He was hilarious in Red Dwarf and achingly sad in Secrets and Lies...I hope this film is a chance for the rest of the world to see what a wonderful actor he is. He'll play the pitiful Pettigrew to perfection. Ahhhh, alliteration, how I love it! :D

Date: 2003-01-14 10:10 pm (UTC)My hair is usually purple (when I'm allowed to dye it because I'm not performing in a show that is), and yes, I am rather cute, aren't I. *smug grin* *giggles* ;-)
I don't have a Ginny icon though...:-P

Date: 2003-01-15 01:23 am (UTC)As for Timothy Spall, holy shit, I'd never heard of him but he looks perfect!
I kinda hope they find people I've never heard of to play Sirius and Remus, truthfully. *gryn*

Date: 2003-01-15 09:43 am (UTC)Timothy Spall is perfect. You'll love him. :)
If you want to see his work, rent Secrets and Lies or watch the Back to Reality episode of Red Dwarf. Or Topsy Turvy, or, heck, any Mike Leigh film. *G*
Gary Oldman is supposed to be Sirius, did you know? Of course, Imdb.com still thinks Ian McKellen is Dumbledore, so we really can't trust rumours, can we. ;-)
I'm huggable! *bounce* :D
(Am I really that cute? Well, yes, I suppose I am. *smirks*)

Date: 2003-01-15 08:05 pm (UTC)I've heard about Gary Oldman; I could accept that, truthfully, I have lots of faith in his ability to pull off a role. Ian McKellen is still not playing Dumbledore, IMDB.com is dumb. Have a look at this and scroll down to the letter he wrote on January 11th. Hehee. I really love that man.
And you're more than that cute, and you know it!

Date: 2003-01-15 05:42 am (UTC)Have saved a couple to my hard drive for sending to my friend Nic for Nevvie-identification purposes at Reading station. *grin*
Hurrah for Timothy Spall. For some reason I imagine Wormtail a little younger than him (if Moony, Prongs and co. were in their twenties when the Potters were killed, shouldn't they be just mid-late 30s now?), but acting-wise and basic appearance-wise... well, I've been a fan for a while. He'll be amazing. :)

Date: 2003-01-15 09:39 am (UTC)Everyone playing the Mauraders era crew are too old (especially James, but don't me started on that *foams at the mouth* ;-), but if they look the part I dont mind. Can you imagine ANYone else as Snape other than Alan Rickman? No, didn't think so. *grins*
Re:
Date: 2003-01-15 01:25 pm (UTC)Erm, yes... I'm a huge Alan Rickman fan but I still think he's totally miscast as Snape - it's too much like other things he's done and I find his acting is too "easy". Plus I imagine Snape as a lot more hunched over than that, and with a bigger nose (not sure why, I just do :) ).
So, for me, Snape's always been Tim Roth. Who would have played the part, except that he turned it down to do something else...
But I completely agree with what you say in principle - looking the part is the most important thing. Although the suggestions on www.billyboyd.net that Billeh should play Lupin were distinctly appealing, and he would be pretty much exactly the right age... (it's going to be Ewan MacGregor, though, isn't it?)
*hugggggggs*

Re:
Date: 2003-01-15 03:47 pm (UTC)I hope to got it isn't Ewan, he would be totally wrong for the part. But that is the strong rumour, yes.
And I see what you're saying about Alan Rickman -- I wanted Tim Roth to do it too, but he stupidly decided to be in Planet of the Apes instead. What a loser. *grins*
I still think AR is a marvelous Snape, but Tim would have been excellent too.
Re:
Date: 2003-01-15 03:48 pm (UTC)Good grief! I didn't know that's what he chucked it in for.
Idiot... Oh well, I'll forgive him for his stupidity, for the sake of R&G are Dead and Rob Roy... :)
Re:
Date: 2003-01-15 03:54 pm (UTC)OMG he was so damn sexy in Rob Roy -- forget Liam Neeson! All I could do was staaaaare at that malicious and oh-so-gorgeous badguy...*laughs*
Re:
Date: 2003-01-15 03:56 pm (UTC)(Although actually I was rather taken with Jessica Lange too!)
Have you seen Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead, by the way? It's kind of lovely seeing Gary Oldman and Tim Roth as these Shakespearean fall guy poppets. Fancied them both rotten in it. :)
no subject
Date: 2003-01-15 04:01 pm (UTC)*chuckles*
I've seen the film at least 10 times, and the play twice. I just love Tom Stoppard. :)
R&G is actually the only time I've ever fancied Gary Oldman, he was so utterly adorable and clueless, and, well, I just can't resist a man with floppy hair. *laughs*

Date: 2003-01-15 03:52 pm (UTC)TIMOTHY SPALL?! Augh! *does a most excited happy dance* Bloody PERFECT!
I'm still confused as to how I feel about the whole Gary Oldman as Sirius business. I'm thinking I'm not happy at this point.

Date: 2003-01-15 03:57 pm (UTC)I'm not really liking it either. I don't think he looks right at all, and I'm not sure the part suits him. But maybe it's just a rumour, and even if it's not, I shall endevour to give him the benefit of the doubt. :)

Date: 2003-01-15 08:34 pm (UTC)Ummmmm.....what to say?
VARIOUS CASTING THOUGHTS
1. Sirius - have heard the Oldman rumours. That would be cool, but I still wish upon wish and hope that Clive Owen would be cast in this role. I just love him, and he's perfect. He'd have the best gaunt, worn out look.
2. Dumbledore - keep hearing Micheal Gambon on this, but I don't think he's quite right. Not Jolly enough (jolly? did I use that word?). Personally, I'd love it to go to Peter O'Toole. Apparently, a family member of Richard Harris (son?) said that he'd like O'Toole to have the role because he and Harris were good friends.
3. Lupin - so kill me, but I still want to see Robert Carlyle here. Grow out the hair, and he is EXACTLY how I imagined Lupin. He also can easily manage the world-weary look, and he's naturally thin build is just right.
4. Ewan McGreggor - the only place I could ever accept him would be as Bill Weasley. The way he looked in the film Shallow Grave. That would be perfect.
Um, I guess that's it then.
Re: Will Work for Bandwidth
Date: 2003-01-16 01:56 am (UTC)Ewan as Bill! YES! I never thought of that before, but it could definately</> work!
He's totally wrong for Lupin, I will be devastated if he gets cast. But Bill...yesss, that could work. :)
I don't really think Michael Gambon would be an appropriate Dumbledore, but he's such a good actor that I wouldn't be too upset. I still think Patrick Stewart was born for the part.
Still not sure what to think about Oldman. Will decide if/when rumour turns out to be true.
