Jan. 16th, 2003 12:40 amWhat an absolutely amazing day.
Brilliant news the First:
Everybody's talking about it. You know what it is by now. Oh yes. *grins*
21 June is going to be the best day of the year. HarryPotterHarryPotterHarryPotter!! Woohooooooooo!!
They certainly waited bloody long enough to tell us, sheesh! I was about to give up on ever reading it.
Even more exciting (if you can believe it) than the release date is the incredible teaser from the book itself:
Dumbledore lowered his hands and surveyed Harry through his half-moon glasses.'It is time,' he said 'for me to tell you what I should have told you five years ago, Harry. Please sit down. I am going to tell you everything.'
Aiiii!! Is that not edge-of-your-seat suspenseful stuff?? Come on June, hurry up already! I NEED TO KNOW NOW!!! *laughs*
Actually, June is a good time to release the book, as it gives me something to obsess happily about until The Return of the King in december. *grins*
Brilliant News the Second:
Neil Gaiman news, ahoy!
1) Neil's doing a European tour in the summer! Whooot!
Yet another chance to stalk my favourite author. Bwahahaha.
And of course he'll remember me and give me a big hug and maybe a kiss on the cheek...*dreamy sigh* :D
2) Neverwhere is being released on DVD! AT LAST!!!
I have a bootleg video, but it's not the same. Plus I don't have a VCR. Or rather, I don't have one that works and as everything else I own is DVD there's no point in fixing it. Especially since Neverwhere will be on DVD! YEAH!
2003 is going to be a fantastic year. I just know it. :)

Date: 2003-01-15 06:19 pm (UTC)It's not a movie, although the film version has been in pre-production for five years now, and Neil has no idea when it's going to be made.
Neverwhere was originally a six part mini-series on the BBC in 1996. Due to extreme budget and time restraints they were unable to truly realize Neil's ideas onscreen, so he just said 'That's alright, I'll put it in the book.' And so Neverwhere the novel was born. :)
