Guess who hugged Sir Ian Mckellan tonight!

That's right, ME! Wooohoooo! :D

I posted the info to [livejournal.com profile] lordoftherings, click here to read all about it. And you might enjoy clicking here as well, to see more evidence that Nevvie likes causing havoc in this community. *laughs*

In other news...I have decided to refrain from being political on my journal. It doesn't suit me, and I don't like the way it upsets my friends. Plus it brings out the trolls -- Hellooooooooo trolls! *waves* I had no idea there were strange people reading my journal without my knowledge. I suppose I should be flattered. *G*
But just so we're clear -- you will still have to endure some environmental ramblings (SAVE THE KAKAPO!), because it's my journal and I'll preach about saving the planet if I damn well please! So there. :) (Being eco-friendly just more me, and I'm sure it's alot less controversial, so I think I'll stick with what I know, and more importantly, what I like.)

Welcome new friends [livejournal.com profile] cacklebang, [livejournal.com profile] drownedangel and [livejournal.com profile] mmulberry! Damn I'm popular. *laughs* Too bad it's only online. I'd give anything to have the same success making friends in the 'real' world as I do online. Ah well.

I have no idea why I am still awake at this ungodly hour. Perhaps I am still feeling giddy from my date with Ian. (HA! If only...;-)

And now, because I can't remember any of the other things I wanted to say, here is a funky quiz by [livejournal.com profile] eibhinn.

1) What are your three favorite Non-LOTR movies?

Hmm. Wargames, Monty Python's Life of Brian, and The Last Unicorn spring instantly to mind. But there are so many others...

2) What are your three favorite bands or artists?

Tori Amos, The Divine Comedy, The Beatles

3) What are your three favorite semi-obscure bands (don't get nearly the attention they should)?

The Young Dubliners!! The Divine Comedy, Moxy Fruvous

4) What book, if any, are you reading right now?

Re-reading the Griffin and Sabine trilogy by Nick Bantock.

5) If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

Either Christchurch, New Zealand, or a beautiful ivy covered cottage in the Cotswolds, one of the most beautiful areas of Britain.

6) What is your most prized LOTR related possession?

My 'Hobbits at Weathertop' photo signed by all four sexxxxxy Hobbit boys. Mmmmmm.

7) What is your most prized non-LOTR related possession?

A tie between my 1st edition Mostly Harmless autographed by Douglas Adams (which I used to hold and comfort me when I was feeling sad or lonely) and my 1st edition Good Omens signed by both Neil Gaiman and Terry Pratchett.

8) What is your talent (you're allowed to be full of yourself)?

I couldn't pick just one talent! *giggles* I have an absolutely bottomless reserve of useless knowledge that I am liable to use at any moment. (The largest animal ever found inside a snake was a fully grown tiger inside a reticulated Python. See? Did you really need to know that? ;-)

9) Pimp a CD.

Promenade by The Divine Comedy.

10) Pimp a book.

Tourist Season by Carl Hiaasen.

11) If you were a member of the Fellowship, which would you be (most fitting to your personality)?

I AM PIPPIN! :) No, really, I am. Ask [livejournal.com profile] eyre_lasgalen, [livejournal.com profile] wreibyn or [livejournal.com profile] ashfae. They've lived with me, they know. I really am exactly like him.

12) Favorite LOTR actor/actress.

Billeh. Although I've been an Ian Mckellan fan for many years.

13) If you had to pimp three journals, whose would you pimp?

How can I choose just three!

[livejournal.com profile] sillypants because she is so delightfully playful and, well, silly. :)
[livejournal.com profile] trianne because she cracks me up and everyone should love her.
[livejournal.com profile] ashfae because she is a Goddess and I love her so very much.

[identity profile] winterswitchery.livejournal.com 2003-02-27 09:59 pm (UTC)(link)
You hugged him?? *faint* How wonderful ^~ How was the play?

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-02-27 10:02 pm (UTC)(link)

I did indeed! I gave him a big squish, and blinked just as the picture was being taken. *chuckles*

The play was alot better than I thought it would be -- I knew that Ian would be marvellous of course, but I don't like Strindberg very much, and so was pleasantly suprised by how humourous it was.

I haven't read the actual story yet but OMG! I am exceedingly jealous of you! I have loved Sir Ian since before he was a kniiiiiiiighet and saw him as Salieri in the original Broadway production of Amadeus (which is also before he was Out so I thought maybe some day I'd have a chance. If only...!) That's absolutely fanbloodytastic. You are such a lucky girl and so is he for getting to meet you. :)

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-02-27 10:13 pm (UTC)(link)

>You are such a lucky girl and so is he for getting to meet you.

Eeee! *blushes shyly and shuffles feet*

I wish I could have seen him in Amadeus! (Which is, incidentally, one of my all time favourite films.) Aiii, he's such a lovely, lovely man. :)

YOUR ICON! *loveloveloveloveLOVE*

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-02-27 10:20 pm (UTC)(link)

Tee hee!

I was wondering if anyone would notice and/or like it. It just had to be made. Mmmm. :)

[identity profile] ex-glassappl719.livejournal.com 2003-02-27 10:43 pm (UTC)(link)
Früvous *and* Nick Bantock? You rock! *swells up with Canadian pride* Another good book, from the same publisher as Bantock, is Barbara Hodgson's The Tattooed Map. I also recall hearing that Barbara is Nick's wife, but eh, I could be misinformed. But it's a good book, sort of similar to Griffen & Sabine in the sense that you're left wondering just what is really going on.

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-02-27 10:48 pm (UTC)(link)

Yayyy Canadians! So many good things come from your fair land. I'd move right away, if it wasn't so damn cold. ;-)

I think I've heard of The Tattoed Map, I shall have to find out more about it. I love love Nick's books, they're all so intriguing and utterly original, not to mention absolutely gorgeous. :)

[identity profile] purupuru.livejournal.com 2003-02-27 10:46 pm (UTC)(link)
OMG, the icon's awesome! That episode just aired, too! XP

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-02-27 10:50 pm (UTC)(link)

YOU! *pouncetackleglomps* :D

Gosh. Blast from the past on my journal. *laughs*

Your icon frightens me. And yet...I can not look away...;-)

Storyteller is such a brilliant episode, I'm sooooo happy I was able to download it so quickly. I love Andrew and his elaborate fantasy world, he's just too adorable. Plus he makes me seem postively normal. *grins*

[identity profile] gnosis-soul.livejournal.com 2003-02-27 10:52 pm (UTC)(link)
Ah! You got to hug Ian McKellen too? I'm one step away from hugging Nevvie! *feels special* :)

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-02-27 10:57 pm (UTC)(link)

*giggles*

Mmmmm love by proxy. How irresistable. ;-)

Wooohooo!

Party at Nevvie's house bayyy-beeeeee! *gets out the balloons and nibbly things*

[identity profile] snowelf.livejournal.com 2003-02-28 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
*HUGS* You lucky girl. Meeting Ian McKellen!

I'm sorry that people can't take it when people get political on their own journals. As for trolls, they're crazy.

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-02-28 05:43 am (UTC)(link)

I am lucky! Now all I need to do is use that luck to win the lottery, fly out to Mexico, and kidnapp BILLEH from the evil clutches of Russell Crowe. *giggles*

[identity profile] sheldrake.livejournal.com 2003-02-28 04:57 am (UTC)(link)
Oh what a nice man Ian is! And I read that you got to meet Douglas Adams too... *sigh*.

Oh, and SAVE THE KAKAPO!!

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-02-28 05:40 am (UTC)(link)

Wheeeee!

Hey, have you seen this yet? I'm going to buy my own Kakapo! :D

B) You got TOUCH... HUG Ian?! *sobs* Is he a good hugger? So few are any good at it...

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-02-28 05:41 am (UTC)(link)

*giggles and points at your icon*

Ian was in a big rush, so he didn't have time to give a long, luscious hug -- but you can tell that he would be very good at it. Lovely arms, dontcha know. *grins*

Woo! You got to hug Sir Ian! *Is jealous!*

*hugs* ^__^

[identity profile] wildemoose.livejournal.com 2003-02-28 06:11 am (UTC)(link)
Ahhh! *faints* Jealousy rays...increasing...*dies* I saw Simon Russell Beale in "Twelfth Night" earlier this year, and afterwards there was a Q and A session at which I ended up sitting about a foot and a half from his feet. I had come prepared with all these intelligent questions, but they were all sadly lost to me, as my brain could only manage, "I...I...could touch him..." Good for you for your presence of mind. I think I would have passed out in the street.

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-02-28 06:15 am (UTC)(link)

*laughs*

I do that all the time -- I always have such intelligent questions and conversation in my head, and then when I meet the famous person, I just stand there and wibble. It's so embaressing. :)

[identity profile] terratheelf.livejournal.com 2003-02-28 07:18 am (UTC)(link)
Awwww, thast to bad about the whole no more politics in your journal Nevvie. I always liked reading them because them resembled my own feelings on the topic and it was nice to find someone who thought the same way as me.
But as its your journal, that issue is entirely up to you. Congrats on Ian Mckellan though. ^_^

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-02-28 08:16 am (UTC)(link)

Being controverial makes me uncomfortable, so I might as well just avoid the issues altogether. If anyone tells me off for liking hobbits, however, they shall have NO MERCY! :)

[identity profile] mirabehn.livejournal.com 2003-02-28 07:22 am (UTC)(link)
You hugged Serena? Wow!!!!!!! Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

*is very jealous*

*but can't be *that* jealous 'cos no one deserves it more than you do* :)

I'll have to tell you about my meeting Robert Stephens one time. That's about as classy as I've got. Oh, and Jeremy Northam. I was an RSC groupie. ;)

I must do that quiz and then go back to bed... ick. Do not like chest infections. :(

*hugggggggggggggggggggs*

Elly

ps eek! I've still not sent your CDs back to you. You still at the same address and everything? I'll post them this weekend. er-hum, we must have had an "accident" with our CD writer, as we mysteriously appear to now have copies of the Tori Amos and Tolkien Ensemble ones ourselves... who would have thought it? ;)

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-02-28 07:57 am (UTC)(link)

Hee! Serena is a babelicious snugglemuffin. Love the lovely k-nigget. :)

Being an RSC groupie sounds like fun! I wonder if I can make a profession out of it...*giggles*

You Tori thief! I just don't think I can be friends with you any more. Humph. :-P

Again, I hate you for all you get to do. I hate my dull life. BLEUGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ummm......you're updating too much and I don't have the time to respond to every post. So, I'll tell you now that I have my new soundcard, so I'm going to go back and watch the kikkoman thing.

Also, I watched the X2 thing you posted last time. I can't wait for that MOVIE!!! Kitty looks wicked in that scene.

ummmmm......what else do I have to tell you? I'm sorry you can't be political. I have to be more consistantly political in my journal. Maybe it will attract some new readers. I want a random flame from an annonomous stranger!

Well, I guess that's about it then.

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-02-28 09:35 am (UTC)(link)

I can pretend to be a random anonymous stranger and flame you if you like. ('I hate Canucks! You all sleep with moose and you smell funny!')

Don't hate me! *lip wibble* When we go to the ROTK premiere together we can pounce on ALL the celebs and smooch 'em till they turn blue, okay? :)

[identity profile] ladystained.livejournal.com 2003-02-28 10:11 am (UTC)(link)
Heh...you have so many online friends because you spill love and happiness everywhere and manage not to be damn annoying while you do it! ::is the sort of person to smack cheerful happy people most of the time:: You have the gift of making everyone feel wanted. ;)

[personal profile] bluegreen17 2003-03-05 06:50 pm (UTC)(link)
i LOVE the photos from weathertop...there's just something about hobbits with wind blowing through their hair...especially pip! i've always had a weakness for pointy ears anyway...and i prefer hobbit ears to elf ears.
oh,and i absolutely adore the most famous weathertop photo with pip at the front...that's probably the one you have autographed,i'd guess.
