neverwhere: (Richard Mayhew is my Lovemonkey)

If you'd like to see something truly disturbing, I suggest you click here and see the trailer for the new film What A Girl Wants. Apart from the ubiquitous London shots of Big Ben and double decker buses, and the suggestion that everyone in England wears silly hats and lives in an enormous mansion (where's MY mansion!?), there is also Colin Firth dancing. And not just dancing -- he's doing a funky mirror dance in tight spandex trousers. I honestly couldn't decide whether I was horrified or utterly amused. *laughs*

[livejournal.com profile] sillypants says I'm her Official LJ Crush. I feel so honoured! *gigglesqueee* :D

I finally got my pictures developed from Dance of Death, and while all the photos taken inside the theatre are absolutely dreadful (I had to take them during the curtain call and there wasn't nearly enough light), the one taken of me with Ian Mckellan is fantastic. Well, he looks amazing anyway, smiling right at the camera and looking so fey and adorable, but *I* look a right mess. Ugh. Fear not, I will scan it for all to see, along with about 50 other pictures I've been meaning to do (like Michael Palin and more Aly and Kara pics from last summer) but have been too lazy, ermm, busy to finish.

In case you're wondering, the geekycute boy in my icon is Richard Mayhew from the BBC mini-series of Neverwhere. Mmmmm. :)

V.sleepy. Somebody cuddle me.

It's a Region 1 dvd, so it's supposed to be for North America only. Thankfully I have a region-free dvd player. *grins*

The series is both astoundingly brilliant and a bit of a letdown. The ideas are wonderful, and so is the acting, particuarly by Richard and the Marquis (SO SEXY...*grope* *thud* ;-), but unfortunately the budget was nonexistant, so some parts, most noticeably the fight with the Great Beast of London, are laughably bad. But we still love it anyway. :)

Plus the music is incredible. Brian Eno provided the score, and it's absolutely perfect -- spooky, ambient, weird.

So yes, you have to by the series. Nevvie commands you! :)
