X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2 IS FUCKING BRILLIANT!
*squeals excitedly* I won't give away any spoilers, because everyone deserves to be as surprised and incredibly happy as I was when they see it. I just want to let you all know that I had a enormous grin on my face from the moment it started, and it never left my face, that's how good I felt watching it. I had goosebumps and butterflies and wanted to leap up from my chair with rapturous applause. And of course you know what the best thing was -- NIGHTCRAWLER! Yesyesyes. I squeed and giggled and swooned like the sad fangirl I am, and I didn't care! He's just amaaazing. Mmmmm. :)
When it was over I honestly couldn't stop grinning, and I when I walked out of the cinema people kept staring at me because I was talking to myself, repeating over and over 'ohmygod that was so brilliant wow that was so brilliant'. *laughs* I felt like I was floating on air for at least an hour afterwards. Yes, it really is that good. Go see it now!
I also saw...Jerry Springer: The Opera. That's right. The opera. And it is mindblowingly good. It's a tragicomedy with a cast of 20 amazing singers, and great songs like 'What the fuck (what the fucking fuck?)'. 'Talk to the hand' and 'I just wanna poop my pants', to name but a few. It is actually a fantastic satire and is at times very poignant, giving a depth and inner life to the insane cast of characters that you never think about when you see them on tv. It's without a doubt the best show in London right now, I'm so glad I got to see it before I go. I picked up some badges in the National Theatre bookshop to wear with pride -- 'Jerry Jerry', 'Crack Whore', and my personal favourite, ' Chick With A Dick'. *lol* Although I'm not sure I'll ever actually wear that one. ;-)
In other news: Today at the optometrist the eye doctor asked me if was under 16, because 'I might need a parent's permission before having my eye test'. UNDER 16!? Dear god, that's a new one. I'm used to being mistaken for 18 or 19, but under 16?? I couldn't decide whether I wanted to hurl abuse at her or break down and cry. Instead I just looked (and felt) shocked, and said with all the politeness I could manage, that I was in fact *25*. Grrrr.
But at least I now have a brand new pair of ubergeeky glasses, which I like very much. Geek power! :D
Tomorrow I'm off to Collectormania with
trianne,
hjartad,
sheldrake and lots of other LJ people. By my next entry, I'll have met (but sadly, not shagged) my BILLY! Wheee! :)

Date: 2003-05-01 06:06 pm (UTC)Unfortunately, my specks aren't geeky, but are a little too cool and fashionable. I'm actually frightened. They're Gucci. Gucci! I'm seriously appalled that I bought designer frames, but I didn't buy them because they are designer, but because they are totally different and cool and look wicked on me. Stupid Gucci.
Don't tell, but with the special anti-reflection coating (helps when I'm looking at bright projection screens at school) they're going to cost $400!!!! I freaked. I can't believe it. I've never spent so much money on something like this for myself.
UGH!

Date: 2003-05-01 06:23 pm (UTC)I've heard outrageously good things about the Jerry Springer opera, but refused to believe the hype (mostly because I was afraid my boyfriend might try to drag me to go see it). Now I might not mind... I want to hear the "Fucking Fuck" song.
Give Billeh a kiss for all of us! ;)

Your boyfriend had the right idea -- you need to go! The opening number alone is worth the price ('My mom is now...my dad. Snip snip!'), and while it isn't an entirely coherent show, there are moments of pure, unmitigated brilliance. And the guy who plays Satan is really cute. *grins*
I love Nightcrawler. Sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo much. *happy sigh* :))

Date: 2003-05-01 06:29 pm (UTC)He came to the Opera when it was showing at the Edinburgh Frige last year, and he really enjoyed it. So I'm sure he'd be very pleased if you asked him that, although he probably won't sing. ;-)
