X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2X2 IS FUCKING BRILLIANT!

*squeals excitedly* I won't give away any spoilers, because everyone deserves to be as surprised and incredibly happy as I was when they see it. I just want to let you all know that I had a enormous grin on my face from the moment it started, and it never left my face, that's how good I felt watching it. I had goosebumps and butterflies and wanted to leap up from my chair with rapturous applause. And of course you know what the best thing was -- NIGHTCRAWLER! Yesyesyes. I squeed and giggled and swooned like the sad fangirl I am, and I didn't care! He's just amaaazing. Mmmmm. :)

When it was over I honestly couldn't stop grinning, and I when I walked out of the cinema people kept staring at me because I was talking to myself, repeating over and over 'ohmygod that was so brilliant wow that was so brilliant'. *laughs* I felt like I was floating on air for at least an hour afterwards. Yes, it really is that good. Go see it now!

I also saw...Jerry Springer: The Opera. That's right. The opera. And it is mindblowingly good. It's a tragicomedy with a cast of 20 amazing singers, and great songs like 'What the fuck (what the fucking fuck?)'. 'Talk to the hand' and 'I just wanna poop my pants', to name but a few. It is actually a fantastic satire and is at times very poignant, giving a depth and inner life to the insane cast of characters that you never think about when you see them on tv. It's without a doubt the best show in London right now, I'm so glad I got to see it before I go. I picked up some badges in the National Theatre bookshop to wear with pride -- 'Jerry Jerry', 'Crack Whore', and my personal favourite, ' Chick With A Dick'. *lol* Although I'm not sure I'll ever actually wear that one. ;-)

In other news: Today at the optometrist the eye doctor asked me if was under 16, because 'I might need a parent's permission before having my eye test'. UNDER 16!? Dear god, that's a new one. I'm used to being mistaken for 18 or 19, but under 16?? I couldn't decide whether I wanted to hurl abuse at her or break down and cry. Instead I just looked (and felt) shocked, and said with all the politeness I could manage, that I was in fact *25*. Grrrr.
But at least I now have a brand new pair of ubergeeky glasses, which I like very much. Geek power! :D

Tomorrow I'm off to Collectormania with [livejournal.com profile] trianne, [livejournal.com profile] hjartad, [livejournal.com profile] sheldrake and lots of other LJ people. By my next entry, I'll have met (but sadly, not shagged) my BILLY! Wheee! :)

Jerry Springer is kicking around the idea of running for US Senate. Since he's from Cincinnati, he's making nice to as many Ohioans as he can. He's giving a speech at some building on campus that I've never heard of next week, and he's going to be at a certain bar downtown being friendly before his speech. I hate bars and I'm not much on Jerry, but I might go just to see if he'll sing something from the opera if I promise to vote for him.

Oh, I forgot: I am dead jealous of you. I want to go to Collectormania. Have fun, you lucky thing! And be sure to give Billeh and Andy nice long shags kisses for me!

He came to the Opera when it was showing at the Edinburgh Frige last year, and he really enjoyed it. So I'm sure he'd be very pleased if you asked him that, although he probably won't sing. ;-)

He won't? Well geez, what's even the point of that, then? ; P

I'm thinking I might go anyway, just so I can say I had a drink with Jerry Springer. He's not as cool as any of the celebrities I actually want to meet, but he does have that whole American icon thing going for him.
