One day more!

I am so excited. So exceedingly, over the top, outrageously thrilled and squealing with anticipitory glee about Harry Potter. Tomorrow night I shall hold in my hand The Book, and Life Will Be Good. *blissful sigh*
I've been a diehard Potterphile since about September '98, when I first read Philosopher's Stone, I just can't get enough of Harry's magickal world. And I don't think I ever want to stop loving these books. Ever. :)
Just for the record -- Jim Dale must DIE. All hail Stephen Fry!
In other news...the job search goes on, my flat is finally clean (and the gasman arrives tomorrow morning to turn on my service, so I can actually use my stove, hurrah!), and Floop the Car has decided to not only shake violently if I drive above 60 MPH, but develop a high pitched squeal as well. Yayyy. *laughs*
brandybuck has just given me the most delightfully salacious image of Alan Cumming (as the Emcee) reading Order of the Phoenix to us naked. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm. YES PLEASE. :))

:P
i'm not getting the book right away. :( i don't want to have to lug it with me because i'm going to want it with me in England so i'm just going to buy it there.
i'll break down and borrow Kirsten's of course, but i don't know how long it will take her to read it. at the rate she reads it'll just be faster to wait until i get there anyway. :S *sigh*

How will you manage, with everyone talking about it all the time? You realise this means we won't be able to have a conversation because I'll be too excited and want to spill everything!

Date: 2003-06-20 03:22 pm (UTC)Of course all squeeage will be behind an LJ-cut.
But you are absolutely CERTIFIABLE, waiting until you go to England. GAH! You scare me. How can you possibly wait so long!?

Date: 2003-06-20 03:07 pm (UTC)Alan sitting on Stephen's lap while they take turns reading is the most delightful thought of all.
*eyes glaze over lustfully* ;-)

Date: 2003-06-20 03:10 pm (UTC)When I read them, I hear Stephen's voice. But I don't mind at all, because his charactarizations are so perfect, I can't imagine them being any other way. It is a very good thing, believe me. :)

Date: 2003-06-20 03:41 am (UTC)I can't wait. I've been in love with the books since the very beginning and the atmosphere of excitement everywhere is wonderful to see. JKR's brought so much pleasure to people.
Oh, and...I'm torn between Hagrid and a Weasley. I'm tragically certain that Lupin (*sob!*) is going to be killed by Pettigrew in a future book, but not this one. I hope. Oh dear, do you think any bookshops will be giving away free packets of tissues?

Date: 2003-06-20 03:17 pm (UTC)I'm torn between Hagrid and Dumbledore, because JK has said countless times how much she adores both characters (especially Hagrid), and that writing this death was absolutely miserable for her. I'm definitely leaning towards Hagrid, as both Ashfae and I think he has 'doooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooomed' written all over his forehead. I'll find out by tomorrrrrrow!!!!!! *squeals excitedly*

Date: 2003-06-20 03:14 pm (UTC)He just finished recording them in the studio last month, and I believe they'll be out in August/September.
Such a long wait! *whinge*
But of course it'll be worth it.

Date: 2003-06-20 08:46 am (UTC)Did you read my reply to your post in my journal? (Um, that was strange sounding when said outloud)?
If you want a propper copy of OotP (ie, the one with British slang and cover art) I'll send you a Canadian copy in the post. You really should have it with all the slang and such.
I'm re-reading GoF in anticipation, and I realised why I don't just constantly read the HP seies.....I cry from beginning to end. The only time I'm not wailing is when I'm laughing at something a Weasley has said.

Date: 2003-06-20 03:12 pm (UTC)I just listened to all four audiobooks in my car the past two weeks. I'm all refreshed and READY TO GO!
I'm getting copies from Amazon.co.uk (as IF I could do without a true British version! ;-) but I certainly wouldn't mind a Canadian one as well! *grins*

Date: 2003-06-22 12:40 pm (UTC)I am halfway through the book - and tomorrow I plan to go down to the beach (yes, a real, genuine, pukka, fair dinkum tropical beach) and with champagne in hand, just read.
To hell with the world. OotP is more important.
