Jul. 29th, 2003 03:15 pmLast night I went to see Monty Python and the Holy Grail at a nearby cinema (a delightfully old fashioned one, with 200 very comfy seats), partly to see the film, but mostly because I thought it would be a good place to meet people. Especially cute geekyboys. Yes, I am that sad -- normal people to go bars and clubs, *I* go to see Holy Grail. *shakes head and sighs* ;-) So I wore one of my more attention grabbing t-shirts (the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy shirt with 'Don't Panic' in large, friendly letters on the front), and tried to look at interesting people so they might notice me. Well, I think we all know how this story turned out. No one noticed me. No one even smiled at me. There were lots of people there, but they were all in large, boisterous groups, which of course made me feel like such a prat for going alone. I couldn't even laugh, I was feeling so sorry for myself. It didn't help that right in front of me was sitting a very scruffy old man, who seemed to represent my future -- unloved, unkempt, and utterly, utterly alone. I don't want to be that guy. Please, somebody, ANYbody, save me from being that guy.
Anyway.
Remember when I said Dave McKean likes fish? I don't think I really explained just how much he likes them. Neil kept teasing him about an article he had read in the Weekly World News about fish in Koi ponds have a disturbing tendency to explode. And Dave didn't like it one bit. *giggles* Every so often, Neil would lean into the microphone and go 'KaBOOM', which made Dave twitch and glare menacingly, and Neil shake with suppressed laughter. They are so cute together. :)
I wanted to apply for an internship at the Henson studios this week, but I've just realized you need to still be enrolled at university to be eligible. Which, quite frankly, SUCKS. I wonder if Neil needs a new assistant? ;-) (Arrghh. Am going absolutely CRAZY here not having a job. No one will hire me. There's no acting jobs to be had either, and even if there were, I'm sure I wouldn't even get through the door, as I'm not a 'hot model/cheerleader type'. Rawr. Somebody give me a JOB, dammit!)
The new pictures of Remus and Sirius are...interesting. Did anyone actually believe Sirius would look like a prettyboi after 12 years of torture in Azkaban? Sheesh. Am reserving judgement about Lupin (MY Lupin), but I do wonder why the hell he has a moustache. That's just not right. Bad Alphonso!
Must dash darlings. Will try to keep you all more updated from now on, I promise. *hugs and kisses for all* :)

Date: 2003-07-29 07:29 pm (UTC)You keep sending me excellent things and I haven't found anything good for you yet. I will have to scavenge Ebay and shop on the weirdo Queen St west in Toronto to find something for you. Don't be surprised if I order you something, and have it sent directly to you. ;)
I wish I could go to Monty Python with you. I think it's an excellent idea to go to see movies like this to try and meet people. The best way to meet folks with the same intersts as you is to do things that you like. So what if everyone there was in a loud group? At least you tried. Keep trying. Don't lock yourself up alone and never face the world, because you'll never meet geekycute boys that way!
You'll find a job soon enough, don't worry. Try at funky weird cool places where you can have purple hair and fit in.
I'm going to call you very soon, I promise. Was going to do it tonight, but I'm not sure how the long distance works to US and must wait to ask mum.
Cheers!!
