Oh frabjous day!
I have a job!!!
Finally, after four long months of tedious searching and humilating rejections, someone has noticed how desirable I am and hired me at last! HUZZAH!
Yes, I am exceedingly happy. Even if it is only a minimum wage job in a video shop. But at least I get three free rentals a week, and an actual paycheck. For now, that's good enough for me. *grins*
In other news, I went to the corporate goth-punk shops HotTopic and Torrid and found some really fun things, like a shirt with the 'I have fought my way here to the Castle beyond the Goblin City...' poem from Labyrinth on it, some birthday goodies for various friends, and a Care Bears air freshener for my car. And I even found an adorable Bright Heart Raccoon plushie for my dashboard, which made me exceedingly happy. I was never really a big Care Bears fan, but I love the Care Bear Cousins, especially that clever, purple, 'walking encyclopaedia' Bright Heart Raccoon. He was just like me! As a raccoon of course.
(Hey
ashfae -- when Kamala and I were little we used to play Care Bears, and I was always Bright Heart, and she was Swift Heart Rabbit. We'd dance around singing the 'Forest of Feelings' song and pretend to save the day. Cute, neh? ;-)
I know I want to go back to England for a visit before the year ends, but I don't know when to go -- Neil Gaiman is doing another reading/Q&A at Foyles in November, but Billy Boyd's and Ian McKellen's plays aren't opening until December. Plus it would be easier, I suppose, to visit people around the Christmas holidays, but it would also be more expensive to travel then too. Arrrghh. I really must decide soon, before the prices rise to high. But it's so difficult! I suppose it really doesn't matter, as long as I just go. And go I shall! Oh yes, it shall be done. :)

I would dearly love to come, but I just don't know how I could do it. I miss Neil so much! I was standing right next to him for four days and never got to say hello, and who knows when I'll see him again! Oh, the agony. Whinge. *laughs*

*does happy dance for Nevvie*
Three free rentals a week can't be all bad... Anyhow! The Labyrinth shirt sounds ultra-cool--I think I need to pop in to Hot Topic sometime. I haven't set foot in one in years, so I didn't know about all the nifty Geek Ware I've been missing.

Well, let's hope I have the willpower to leave once in a while. So I can actually go to work and keep getting the rentals. ;-)

Congrats Nevvie!!!!
Yay!
Here is a hobbit "Happy Worker" hat. (It doubles as a Tori one, too. Thank Tamf of TEUNC fro inventing this pwactice.)
I suggest going at a time that covers as many fwends as possible. Barring taht, thry early December and catching both plays. (Ideally, these would coincide.) I hope you manage to visit Engerland - it sounds as if it would be vert good for you.

Yes you are very cute. Heh.
Whenever you go to England, let me know so we can meet up and I can join you in whatever kickass activity you decide to partake in--all of those sound utterly nifty.

I don't own a video player, just dvd -- can't WAIT to see Storyteller! Oh, squee! :D
I thought you would be amused at Lil Nevvie and Lil Kamala stories. She'd be horrified if she knew I told you of course. *laughs*

Hee, Lil Nevvie and Lil Kamala! I want more stories!
no subject
Hmmmmmm...more stories. *ponders*
There used to be two enormous wooden fort-like things in our playground that we pretended to be a pirateship or in a castle or a space station (ack! Aliens!)...and we knew a boy named Alex Cherry who used to suck on shoestrings and eat his own hair. *laughs*
And I used to beat her at Hungry Hungry Hippos. *giggles*

Hee! Now I have the 'Worst Witch' theme music in my head. So cute. :)
It was a very good omen indeed that on my first day a Neil Gaiman fan came in wanting the Neverwhere dvd and I got to show off in front of my boss, talking to the guy for 15 minutes about all things Neil and being the best Customer Service Representative I could be. Whooot!

I, in a weird moment, once had vast ambitions of being a video store clerk. Like, as a career. They still haven't quite left me.
