Hajimemashite minna-san! Ogenki deska? Nevvie-sama desu. Watashi wa kawaii, neh? *giggles*

Okay okay, I shall no longer subject you to my appalling japanese. ;-)
I've just been inundated with delicious anime the past few days, thanks to dearest [livejournal.com profile] eyre_lasgalen and her marvelous birthday presents of Kiki's Delivery Service (direct from Studio Ghibli, not the craptastic Disneydub) and Fushigi Yuugi dvds. *smothers her in happy kisses* Yesterday I watched 20 episodes of FY in a row and this morning nearly answered the phone at work 'moshi moshi' and kept talking to my co-workers in broken japanese. ('Yosh!' 'Sumimasen Henry-sempai!') They must think I am so weird. *laughs*

Oh, and speaking of work, I met a new friend, [livejournal.com profile] undomiel_tari while I was outside looking after the previously viewed dvd tables. I don't even know how I knew she was on LJ, it was just a feeling I got when I saw her (probably because she was such a cool LOTR fan ;-), but I'm so glad I asked if she was 'one of us'. It's nice to know there are people I might be able to meet up with sometime, since I don't know anyone in this town. Or within about 2,000 miles of me, really. *small sigh*

I'd like to remind everyone that A Mighty Wind comes out on dvd today, and you should all buy it. I got an advance copy this weekend, and it has some excellent special features, including songs not in the film, and the entire concert as it would have been broadcast on PBS, which was really cool. Go on, you know you want to get it. Nevvie commands you! :D

I have Endless Nights, the new 1602, and of course the Neverwhere dvd, which are absolutely orgasmic fantastic, but they're making me miss Neil more than ever. Oh, I know what you're thinking -- I can't miss someone that I don't even know. But I do. I miss Neil, because I feel like he's such a part of my life, and I'm not used to going so long without seeing him. (Well, okay, I saw him continuously for four days at Comic-Con, but I didn't get to speak to him, so it doesn't count.)
Gah. Am such a sad, hopelessly devoted fangirl. *bonks self on head with rubber chicken* :)

Too good to you? No! For you are without a doubt the best kind of friend a girl could ever have, and even though I have not (yet) met you, I love you dearly and am so incredbly thankful to have you in my life. So everything you do is wonderful my little mushnik! *snog!* :D

Especially when you sashay so invitingly. Bwahahaha. ;-)

you're a better person than i am...i still haven't gotten a present.

i keep looking, man. but i just haven't run across anything that screams NEVVIE at me.

At least you have the excuse of still looking -- your present is sitting in my closet, making pleading 'send me!' eyes at me. Well, not literally, thank the Great Green Arkleseizure. *giggles*

Nihongo ga ojozu desu ne! (I hope I got that right, because I don't really know Japanese :) If you want to have a good chuckle, look for the book Zakennayo! (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0452275067/qid%3D1064366395/sr%3D11-1/ref%3Dsr%5F11%5F1/103-8193676-5979848) the next time you're in a book store. I've heard that a lot of the slang the book teaches is outdated, but it's definitely an amusing insight into life as a jingai (gaijin) trying to live in Tokyo.

I really liked Kiki's Delivery Service, maybe even more than Spirited Away (the story seems more relevant to me, anyhow, being an artist with plenty of fits of artist's block). This weekend I discovered the existence of this DVD set (http://www.mcgail.com/stgh12anmoin.html), and am very tempted to buy it!

I need to check out the Mighty Wind DVD. I loved the movie, and it'll be strange to actually see a full version of their concert :D

Kiki is my favourite Miyazaki film, it's just so adorable! I liked Spirited Away, but it's not as magickal as his other films.

Have you seen Lost in Translation yet? I really want to, because I have a feeling I would totally relate to the clueless bakagaijin trying to survive in Japan. *grins*

The Mighty Wind dvd is well worth the money, if only for the concert, which is filmed in video and really does look like you're watching a tv broadcast, which makes the whole thing so enticingly realistic. Plus you get to hear the entire 'Sure Flow Catheter' song -- isn't that recommendation enough for a purchase? ;-)

I am very jealous of those FY dvd's. Especially since to get them here is 350 for season 1 and 300 for season two. And I have to buy them as box sets. I cannot bye them alone. *sighs*

But it is a lovely series, the manga/comics are 100000 times better though.

Nebbichaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan!

I really loved Kiki's Delivery Service. It's such a sweet movie and I feel like giving a copy to every young woman I know. A good lesson on being independent and free-spirited.

mmmm......kisses....

I'm glad that the DVDs are ok. Now I can send feedback to the seller! Yippee!

Can't wait to get to see A Mighty Wind. Just can't wait!!!!!

Sometimes I feel like I'll never find someone from LJ in real life. I talk to people who don't know what "Squeeee" or "LOL" mean. I feel so weird sometimes. I don't know any fangirls in real life.

You have the strangest icons. :-P

I feel so weird ALL the time! I guess that's why we get along so well, neh? ;-)

The dvds are FAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAABULOUS thankyouthankyouthankyou! *bows humbly before thee* :D

You rule. Have I told you that lately?

I RULE!!!!!!!!

I'm glad that I'm not the only one who feels weird. In real life I feel like something is out of place because no one knows about my "fangirl life" as it were. It's just an entire odd sort of existance.....something that is so important to me, and yet has a certain time and place, and doesn't fit into every day life. I guess I need to find more fan friends in rl or something.
