Sometimes being an out and proud Geek has its disadvantages

Aiiiiii. According to this article I enjoy (and in some cases, am rabidly passionate about) 9 out of 10 of the Top Ten Geekiest Hobbies. No wonder no one will shag snog go out with me. *sob*

Stupid people. Am such a sexy wee beastie with my Starfleet uniform and stack of comic books and D&D character sheet. Hmmph.

Now, see, I find that a very good reason to go out with snog shag you senseless.

Squee!

*pouncekisses*

It's official, then--your Fellow Dorks are intimidated and instead worship you as a goddess (at least, that's the only explanation I can come up with). Heck, I'm intimidated, 'cos I only scored a 4 (possible 5) on the list.

I'm trying to figure out which one you don't enjoy. Hmmmm...

Worship me like the goddess I am!

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-10-13 01:38 pm (UTC)(link)

Hehehe. I know, it's a tricky one to figure out -- but I'll never tell. ;-)

I stopped reading the article half way through, and skimmed the rest. If i wanted to be boring and normal, i'd shop at gap, support a football team and watch eastenders, but personally the chances of me wanting to kiss/sleep with someone as normal as that are about as likely as me voluntarily gouging my eyes out for a fiver.

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-10-13 01:42 pm (UTC)(link)

*smirk* Normal is so boring. Being a weirdo is far more interesting. And besides, there are much better uses for that fiver. You could buy me a present, for starters. ;-)

Wheee, you've got that backwards. You have 9 times the pulling power and everyone wants to go out with Snog Shag you :D

*Creeps up and pinches your D&D sheet, uniform, and your bum*

O:)

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-10-13 01:48 pm (UTC)(link)

You're so cute. *ticklepets*

I'll snog shag go out with you!

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-10-13 02:22 pm (UTC)(link)

Booyah!

We dorkycool people really are the best. Worship us! Or be damned to eternal mediocrity. *grins*

Where do you live again? ;-)

[identity profile] sci.livejournal.com 2003-10-13 02:39 pm (UTC)(link)
Star Wars is part of our cultural heritage! I could wander into any pub and ask people if they thought SW was cool. I'd bet a tenner more than half say yes.

Okay, these sex-life stats..

Role Playing Games: can't spell it without Roleplay.

Comic Books: Superheroines and evil villainesses (villanessi?) wear hot costumes. Mix with above.

Star Wars: Gold Bikini. nuf said.

Vamps: Damn, they caught that one..

Startrek: Uniforms are hot. *nodnod*

Furry: Fur on bare skin's been around since the invention of the massage glove. Time to scale it up.

LARP: Tavern wenches, Elven priestesses, amazons.. I can go on.

My brother looked rather hurt when I read him the bit about the flame-patterned shirts.

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-10-13 04:45 pm (UTC)(link)

I think anyone who bet against you would be out of a lot of money by the end of the night. *chuckles*

All geeky things are cool! Being an internet nerd used to be the biggest turnoff of all, but now everyone and their dog are online. Geeks do all the best things FIRST. Bwahaha.

[identity profile] eyre-lasgalen.livejournal.com 2003-10-13 04:14 pm (UTC)(link)
I'm not geeky enough, according to THAT. While I deffintely am a geek, I'm not your typical D&D, Trekkie geek. I was once, but no longer.

So, don't worry. I'm not as geeky as you are, and I still can't get anyone to *ahem* go out with me. So, it's obvious that people in the rl just don't appreciate weirdos like us

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-10-13 04:42 pm (UTC)(link)

I don't think I'm a typical geek, which is another reason why I feel like such an outcast.
They certainly didn't list 'adults who still love cartoons', so that's one geeky persuasion they forgot about. Maybe we're just not cool enough. ;-)

*I* appreciate us! *mwah*

[identity profile] undomiel-tari.livejournal.com 2003-10-14 04:51 pm (UTC)(link)
i'm sorry i know this has nothing to do w/ your post and you don't know me. i actually met nevvie at her work and i live in long beach too. but anyway, i wanted to comment on your lj username. it's beautiful! i love to see other elven names. just seeing it makes me think of a grove of sunlit trees. that's all.

you may now revert to your previously scheduled programming...

[identity profile] chicanerys-muse.livejournal.com 2003-10-14 12:11 am (UTC)(link)
OKay.. you and I are both going to be old maids playing magic on the porch of the retirement home.

I am 9 for 10 as well.

HUZZAH!

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-10-14 12:37 am (UTC)(link)

I can't think of a better way to spend my golden years. *grins impishly*

[identity profile] queeniefox.livejournal.com 2003-10-14 03:59 am (UTC)(link)
I personally am ashamed that I only fit into one of those categories. I feel I am lacking in some way...

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-10-14 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)

Nononono!

That just means you are a highly well adjusted, stable individual who can blend into normal society without getting a nervous tick or going boom. Tis good. *grins*

[identity profile] marcyleecorgan.livejournal.com 2003-10-14 06:36 am (UTC)(link)
Heyyy... I only have six, and that's bad enough! :)

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-10-14 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)

Hehehe -- looks like you have some work to do. ;-)

[identity profile] ashfae.livejournal.com 2003-10-14 08:18 am (UTC)(link)
Y'know, I clearly should marry you. Then we can live happily ever after in Starfleet uniforms reading whatever the hell we want. Bah to those who say geeks aren't sexy; that's only true if you're a guy. If you're a girl and like those things, you become instantly sexy to EVERY MALE GEEK THERE IS and some of them are awfully cute and will fix your computer.

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-10-14 05:42 pm (UTC)(link)

I think the gods are trying to tell us we are destined to be together. *laughs*

[identity profile] kasyx.livejournal.com 2003-10-14 10:37 am (UTC)(link)
Bah. Normal is pigeonholing. I say shoot the pigeons.

All the world seems in tune on a spring afternoon when we're poisining pigeons in the park...

oy!
we've not spoken since meeting that day at your work, but i saw the 44 comments posted and had to comment myself!

*confesses*
i only scored 6 out of those 10... but is it a mark of my geek-dom if i don't think that is a very high score? hehe... who knows. at least i'm happy, ¿no?

*kisses da pirate*

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-10-14 05:41 pm (UTC)(link)

*laughs*

Why helloooooooo there! I thought you had forgotten lil' ol' me. *G*

I read your journal but I haven't commented because I haven't known what to say. Silly Nevvie. *giggles sheepishly*

6/10 is still highly geeky. Don't take my score as dogma, as it shows I am hightly abnormal and not at all worth considering. ;-)

[identity profile] ladynemo.livejournal.com 2003-10-14 11:50 pm (UTC)(link)
Yeah, I'm 9 out of 10 as well.
See, the way I get people to shag snog go out with me is I find people just as or geekier than I am. The only time I've shagged snogged gone out with a non-geek person is when we were very very very drunk. Which is a BAD idea. Not worth it. They're terribly boring. Nothing to talk about.

[identity profile] snowelf.livejournal.com 2003-10-15 11:01 am (UTC)(link)
*HUGS* People are so stupid and idiotic. They should realize how nice you are. *breaks their kneecaps with a rubber mallet*

[identity profile] angelislington.livejournal.com 2003-10-15 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)

I think I just need you to hang out with me all the time so you can glare at people and brandish the mallet threateningly. *giggles*
