So. Many. PICTURES.
Dec. 5th, 2003 03:00 pmHello hello my adoring minions, you may now stop drooling with anticipation, for I bring tidings of great joy. NevviePhotos! :D
First of all, you may click me to see the pictures of Alan Cumming I took earlier this year. So cute!
And now...

Michael Palin at the Sahara reading/signing event. He is holding up this picture of us taken in 1997, which I had him sign.

A frightfully bad picture of me with Sir Ian Mckellan. And yes, that is the same Hobbit shirt I wore to Collectormania. It's my Fellowship-meeting shirt. *grins*

The LOTR booth at ComicCon!

Isn't this Gollum replica gorgeous? It was as big as me, and infinitely more popular. ;-)

Who's this cutie? Why, it's Richard Taylor of course! I have a picture of us together, but it's just too horrific to ever see the light of day. He made a Gollum face at me though. *G*

This is the Star Wars: Clone Wars panel discussion. The man with the dark hair sitting just above Anakin and C-3PO is Genndy Taratovsky, creator of Samurai Jack and Dexter's Laboratory.

And speaking of panels...Believe it or not, this is Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean. I think Neil at this point is teasing Dave about his fish fetish. ;-)

After Neil's first panel on thursday I went up to say Hi, and he was literally surrounded by squealing children. They glomped on to him so fast he didn't even realize what was happening and nearly fell over. It was SO CUTE. As is Neil. But we all knew that. :)

Me with the master of fantasy art, Brian Froud. He was so nice! He talked to me for about 5 minutes, and signed a beautiful faerie print (which I still need to frame).

Me with graphic novel artist Charles Vess. I bet you're not even looking at his absurd expression and are just staring at my wicked shirt, neh? *smirk*
I did take pictures during the LOTR event, but as we were so far away you can barely tell who (or what) they are. Ah well.
I think that's about it for now. I do have a bit more to put online (like all the things I had signed), but I do believe that's enough photos for today. I hope you enjoyed my little slide show. :)

gah!
Date: 2003-12-05 05:40 pm (UTC)I'm afraid this was one of my first reactions, too. that and an impulse to jump you and make you recount the experiences in minute detail. my god, between Neil Gaiman (which I already knew about), and Sir Ian, Richard Taylor, Neil with Dave McKean, Brian Froud, and Charles Vess ... augh, the amount of lust I have to have been in your place to meet these guys is extreme. dude, you are so. damn. lucky!

I never forget it.
Sometimes it's what helps me make it through the bad days, when I feel insignificant and unloved. I've been extremely fortunate to meet so many people I admire, and am always grateful to have been so blessed.
You can read in more detail about these events, they're all in my journal. Collectormania was in early May. I actually met Sir Ian three times after his performances in London, so I'm not sure which one you'd prefer to read, but I believe they're either april or may. ComicCon was july. Alan Cumming was April, I think. I can't remember when Michael Palin was. There are also lots of Neil meetings over the past two years, although again I can't quite remember where they all are. One is definitely in november last year, and is probably listed in my Memories (which I really need update).
Does that help? :)
