neverwhere: (Neverwhere)

Last year, I was standing above the Thames, facing the Houses of Parliament, and cheered with thousands of other people as Big Ben rang in the start of the new year.

This year, I sat on my bed (the only other piece of furniture in my miserably untidy flat apart from the computer desk), holding a bottle of root beer and watching other people having fun on t.v, and when the big ball dropped in Times Square to signal the start of 2004...I just sat there, sobbing pathetically.

That's how I greeted the new year. As a pathetic, lonely failure.

Please don't let me end the year the same way.

My New Year was crap too.

You are not a faliure. For a start you are too young to be a faliure! You've got your whole life ahead of you, you are a funny caring person and just because New Year sucked does not mean 2004 will too.

I don't feel very young, most of the time. I mean, I know I am, relatively speaking, but there's so much I should have already done by now. Other 25 year olds have great jobs and houses and aren't living in their parent's shadow (although thankfully I am not living in my dad's house *shudder*).

Bah. Am just moping. Ignore me. :)

Yes I do!

Unfortuntely I have none. I'd really quite like some Mr Kipling victorian sponge cake cookie things, the ones with the raspberry jam and creamy centre...oohh those are nice. Or some big fluffy chocolate chip cookies.

Damn. Now I have to go shopping. :-P

:( Poor dear. Though, if it's any consolation, I nearly always have a terrible New Years Eve.

But we'll make up for it all at the party on Tuesday, yes? It'll be fabulous.
