neverwhereHoo boy, it certainly has been a long time since my last update. And all it took was a fantastic midnight showing at the IMAX cinema of the utterly brilliant Prisoner of Azkaban to end my LJ ennui. *grins*
Gahhhh. Potter. Potter. No spoilers, just SQUEEEEE. And lots of it. There are a few nitpicky things which I'm sure I willrant about discuss later, but mostly I am breathless with delight, and utterly, utterly enraptured with the film, and hope everyone else will be too. I could go on for pages about the things that kept me grinning the entire time (except when I was gasping in fear), but I did promise not to mention them. So I won't. I honestly don't know why I haven't written more lately. I've had quite a lot to say, and every day I remind myself to update, but for some reason I never seem to finish an entry. Silly Nevvie. *giggles sheepishly* For those of you who are actually interested in these things, here's a brief rundown of events:

songbirdjones and her geekycute hobbity boyfriend at work, and we've been spending time together for the past two weeks, which has been ever so nice. And tonight I finally met randiriel at the PoA screening, who is fantastically adorable (and full of Ravenclaw goodness, woohooo!) and has promised to have many late night excursions for pancakes and other delicious things with me. I just love making new friends, don't you? :)
-- I discovered Invader Zim and am now obsessed with the series, and especially with Gir. Aiii, so cute! The dvd even comes with Irken subtitles, which makes my geeky heart explode with glee. Yes, I really am that weird. Thank you so much for noticing. *smirk*
-- I have a second job at Pier 1 now, which I suppose is a good thing. I really don't like most of home decor they sell (brown and orange and faux ethnic? Bleaugh!), so I'm finding it a bit difficult to be enthusiastic about my products, but I do like aromatic candles, and we sell an awful lot of those. *G* And anyway, it's not like I'm doing it for any other reason than I need the money. The video shop is the (mostly) fun job, even though I'm hardly thrilled with Pier 1, it doesn't really matter, because more money means more things to spent it on, like...
-- ComicCon! The cheque is in the post, so there's no turning back -- I'm going, so who wants to meet up and share the lurrrve? Go on, you know you want to!
-- Inspired byundomiel_tari, I've decided to get a tattoo. I've been toying with the idea for ages, but now I think I'm actually going to do it. If I can force myself to brave the pain. I think I've almost definitely decided to get 'Tookish' in purple tengwar somewhere on my leg. Or possibly my torso. Probably. Errmm. Yes. *giggles*
-- And speaking ofundomiel_tari, she and achtung_meggy moved back home last week. SNIFF. I know they're not that far away, but I already miss them terribly. Come back to meeeeeeeeeee my darlings. *cling!*
...Of course, that's nowhere near everything that happened (my car broke down, I was assaulted with much hostile abuse at work, my boss still refuses to promote me while making the obnoxious teenager who's only been with the company a month a shift leader, Tori has a new dvd, ROTK made me cry in front of 20 impatiently waiting customers at work oh the humiliation but still I love those hobbits so much, etc etc...), but it's 5am and I really must sleep. I'm off to dream of cheeky Weasley Twins and a very charming DADA professor. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm. :)

Those other two films? They don't exist anymore. It's all about POA. Curon showed us how the films are supposed to look, and made Columbus's feeble attempts look like the cinematic rubbish they are. (Perhaps that's a bit too harsh. But in comparison to PoA it's impossible not to admit how amateurish they both seem.)

Congrats on the tattoo. I want one, but i'm entirely too fickle. I can't even put a sticker on my car, I make them all magnetic. So I stick with temporarys or henna. Post up a picture when you have it!
