'I kick arse for the Lord!' ...and other musings
Yes, I saw Dead Alive aka Brain Dead aka The Goriest Horror Film Ever Made last night. And it was good. *grins*
So what else has been happening in my little world lately?
-- I was finally promoted to Shift Leader at Hollywood Video, thank the Great Green Arkleseizure. Not that it's made much difference financially, as I'm still being paid at my sales rep salary. Grrr! But hey, it's not as if my one ambition in life is to be a manager at a video shop. Yikes. *shudder* ;-)
-- Still working my two jobs on weekends, and slowly but surely going insane.
-- ComicCon goodness I forgot to mention: I was featured on AdultSwim's website and was on tv! I talked to Hockey Chicken on the phone while being videotaped and shown live on the web (whooot!), plus I saw myself in the background on VH1's Best Week Ever feature about the Con. How cool is that! I love that show even more now.
-- Films I have seen: Spider-Man 2 (twice! ALL HAIL SPIDEY), Fahrenheit 9/11 (so brilliant, god bless Michael Moore), De-Lovely (wheeee Kevin Kline!), and while technically not a film I did finally watch Cowboy Bebop, which I'm sure will make
coppinggoggles very happy. *G*
-- I was offered a job at Technicolour Creative post-production house in Hollywood, but sadly had to turn it down as the hours were intolerable (10pm-6am) and I have no life as it is. But the exceedingly nice manager hinted that there might be other job openings in the future and would keep me in mind for them. Ohpleaseohplease. *crosses fingers and hopes*
-- My poor car was hit from behind last week on the motorway, and the whole left side is completely smashed. Woe. Thankfully it was without a doubt the other driver's fault and I will either have a fully repaired car or a brand new one soon.
...And I'm spent. :)

That's awesome about the whole being on tv thing! That was just such an awesome weekend for everyone I think...even though me and everyone I talked to came home from San Diego with the flu etc.
I saw De-Lovely too and all I could think was *blink* John Barrowman is in that movie. Jenn + John Barrowman = OTP...even if he's gay. *LOL*

JOHN BARROWMAN! Guhhhhhhhhhhhhh. *licks him all up*
Did I mention guhhhhh? *giggles*
There should have been more explicit Kevin/John love. Two of my favourite boys together at last...Mmmmmmmmmmmm. ;-)

*SNOGGLE!*
I am seriously making plans to seriously and truthfully and honestly come to the UK this year for a Very Important Event and I really am going to make it this time I swear this to be true. Seriously. :))

Bleaaaaah for dead cars, but yaaaaaaay for being able to prove that it was someone else's fault and they must fix it.
You really need a new job. I still say you should get one that involves talking to/dealing with famous people, one way or another. I've never met anyone as good at networking as you. Wow.

*pouncesquish!*
Nearly every scene in De-Lovely has music in it, although only a few of the performers actually do it justice (John Barrowman is of course divine, but he's a professional and was the star of the London revival of Anything Goes, so I expect nothing less from him, and Elvis Costello was strange but quirkily amusing, but Alanis Morisette MUST BURN). Kevin Kline was oustanding as Cole, and Ashley Judd was surprisingly good as well. It's not getting the best reviews here, which I can't understand at all as it's highly entertaining and beautifully filmed. What do American critics know anyway. Psh.
I still don't understand why you think I'm a good networker, but I'll accept your praise anyway. *grins*

Congratulations on the promotion. Just don't work yourself to death, m'kay. Sloth is a highly underrated deadly sin, IMHO.

Mmmmmmmmm sloth. Definitely underated. Love the lovely sloth. :)
I've only seen a tiny bit of Meet the Feebles, and I can't seem to find a copy of it anywhere, woe is me.
