Oct. 18th, 2004 06:40 pmGUESS WHO'S GOING TO THE UK IN MARCH
That's right, it's me! Bwahahahahahahahaha! :D
I can't tell all the details now (mostly because I don't have any yet), I just know that's the month I'll be there. I don't know how long I'll be staying (if I had my way, of course it'd be forever), or where exactly I'll be visiting (except Edinburgh, that's the only certainty so far), but with luck I'll be able to stay longer than a few days and meet up with more than a few of my beloved friends. Oh frabjuous day! I'm so extraordinarily happy. :))
The past week has been a series of ups and downs:
achtung_meggy came over on saturday and we geeked out to the FOTR cast commentary, and laughed constantly (she's so much fun!), which was great, but my brand new car was attacked by a viciously exploding car tire, so now Izzy's front bumper is completely destroyed, and I really don't know how I'm going to explain it to my father (I promised nothing would happen to her for at least a year). Plus I've been having lots of doubts about my job; I wonder if it's the right place for me, and if I'm destined never to do something I enjoy, but meander though one tedious job after another. I cried quite a lot last week, as poor
_ape (my co-worker and friend) was most unfortunate to witness. But this week shall be different -- it's already starting out much better, with thoughts of ENGLAND to cheer me. Yayyyy.
How common are angelislington's interests
My interests so totally rock. I am the greatest! *laughs*
I can't believe only 107 people have Neil Hannon as an interest. And only 43 have Simon Schama!
Uncultured swine. ;-)

Also, yay Tom Lehrer and other nerdy goodness. "Monty Python's Flying Circus" should so not be 'unusual', dammit.

Date: 2004-10-20 04:08 am (UTC)A pox on David Starkey! He is insipid and dull and NOT SIMON SCHAMA! Or Alison Weir, for that matter, who will always be the true master of all things regarding the english monarchy.

Date: 2004-10-20 04:05 am (UTC)Egads! Surely you know The Divine Comedy, the Greatest Band In The World? Neil Hannon is DivCom, and is also my obsession. (What is it with me and Neils? I hope to god my true love turns out to be a Neil. Wouldn't that be bliss? ;-) I simply must make you copies of every DivCom album, for you to love and adore, for he is terribly witty and wonderful and full of Nevtastic glee.
Simon Schama is a historian and was the host of the History of Britain tv series, and is utterly brilliant. My father made me read his enormous tome about the Revolutionary War, Citizens, when I was younger and could barely lift the damn thing. He's rather infamous for having a charmingly eccentric way of speaking and moving his body that you either love or detest -- I think you can guess which one I chose. *grins*
NEVVIE DANCE! Sweet jeebus I haven't NevvieDanced in so long. AIIIIIIIIIIIII I'M SO FREAKING EXCITED TO SEE YOUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU :D
