neverwhere: (Default)
[personal profile] neverwhere
Because I don't have anything particularly interesting to say but still wanted to write an entry cause I'm silly like that, have a meme. :)

1. What does your Livejournal name mean?
I wanted 'neverwhere' of course, because it's who I am, but it was already taken (but someone who has neverever posted not even once the bastard), so I chose a character from the series instead. I still like it alot, but I'm Nevvie always and forever. :)

2. Elaborate on your default icon?
I can't believe I've had the same default image for four years. Erk. It's me. Being cute. Mostly. ;-)

3. Make up a question.
What is your silliest fear? Sometimes I'm honestly afraid I'm not actually a Ravenclaw. I'm so weird.

4. What's your current relationship status?
To quote [livejournal.com profile] nut_m3g, 'so beyond single'. *sighs with despair* Three years alone (well, four, if you want to be extremely complicated about it) and counting. And not even a hope of anything in the future. Not really bothered about it most days. But others...*sad smile*

5. What EXACTLY are you wearing right now?
How tediously uninteresting. Purple long sleeved shirt, blue jeans, uncomfortable black work shoes I can't be bothered to take off, large square rimmed geek glasses, hair in pigtails.

6. What is your current problem?
Only one? Seriously, I can't list just one, there are dozens. If I had to pick the most overwhelming it would be stagnation and paralyzing anxiety about my lack of future plans and prospects.

7. What do you love most?
Laughing with close friends. There is nothing better in the world than that.

8. What makes you most happy?
Being with my treasured friends and knowing they love me.

9. Are you musically inclined?
Yes, but I cry knowing how I've ruined it all. I haven't had a voice lesson in three years and even singing in the car I can hear the appalling decline of my voice and weep inside every time I hear it crack. I'll never do musical theatre again at this rate. (Not that there was much hope of that anyway.) I played piano from 7-12 and was actually quite good at it, but quit because I was bored and haven't had a lesson since, which is absolutely one of the worst descisons I have ever made.

10. If you could go back in time and change something, what would you change?
I never would have left Sarah Lawrence. I will regret that until the day I die. That or go back and find every single one of the bastards who emotionally and/or physically abused me AND KICK THEIR ASS. Probably the first one though. ;-)

11. If you MUST be an animal for ONE day, what would you be?
An otter of course! I'd play all the live long day, splashing and sliding and giggling with my otter friends, and play mischievious pranks on all the other animals. Wheeeee.

12. Ever have a near death experience? No.

13. Name an obvious quality you have.
Erm....maybe my hair. *laughs* My bouncy gigglegrin is something I'm proud of, even if it doesn't get me noticed or appreciated.

14. What's the name of the song that's stuck in your head right now?
'Mousukoshi...mousukoshi' ('A little bit more') from Midori no Hibi (Midori Days). It's the ending theme for the series, which I'm currently watching, so it's in my head as I type this. I'm taking a break from a marathon, just starting ep 12 of 13. Maybe I don't want it to end? :)

15. Who did you cut and paste this from? [livejournal.com profile] nut_m3g of course.

16. Name someone with the same birthday as you.
Sophia Loren, I think.

17. Have you ever vandalized someone's private property?
No, but I have passive aggressively wished I had on several occasions.

18. Have you ever been in a fight?
Not if you mean 'did I start one'. Have I been beat up? Yes.

19. Have you ever sung in front of a large audience?
Hee. Yes. And I miss it terribly.

20. What is the first thing you notice about the opposite sex?
Eyes and smile. I love a cheeky grin!

21. What do you usually order from Starbucks?
HISS SPIT GRRRRR NO STARBUCKS ONLY COFFEE BEAN! :-P

22. Has anyone ever said you looked like a celebrity?
I used to get Punky Brewster a lot. *giggles*

23. Do you still watch kiddy movies or TV shows?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA that is the funniest question ever. :D
I seriously don't think I could live my life without cartoons or 'kiddy' shows, whatever that is. ;-)

24. Did you have braces?
Yes, and I need them again! My bottom teeth are a disaster.

25. Are you comfortable with your height?
Nooooooooo I wish I were taller. Being hobbity may be cute, but it doesn't help you reach the top shelf.

26. What is the most romantic thing someone has ever done for you?
*ponders* I have no idea. A back rub when I didn't ask for one? Not very exciting really, is it.

27. Do you speak any other languages?
I used to be exceedingly good at French, since both my parents are fluent, but alas I have forgotten nearly everything. I had six years of Latin a bazillion years ago, so now 'Grumio est in culina' (Grumio is in the kitchen!) is as far as I get. I think I actually might know more Japanese than either of the languages I used to know so well, and that really isn't saying very much. :)

28. Do you have a crush on someone on LJ?
God yes. Several. *le sigh*

That was fun, wasn't it! :D

Agricola est poeta.

First sentence I learned in Latin. Probably will be the last thing I forget. Well, that and stultus assinine and the "heek, hike, hoke . . . hugh-us, hugh-us, hugh-us . . . hugh-ick, hugh-ick, hugh-ick . . . hi! hunk! honk!" bit - with hand gestures on the last three.

(aka hic, haec, hoc . . . huius, huius, huius . . . huic, huic, huic . . . hae, hunc, hanc)

Yes, we drove our Latin teacher nuts - or would have if she hadn't taught in an inner-urban school before us.

Hee!

My latin teacher ('salve magister!') was completely mental -- she tried to teach us the cases using puppets, my favourite being a little monkey for Danny Dative who likes to 'hold his banana' (omg what? *lol*) for some reason I can't remember now. I think latin gives you the crazy. *grins*

Actually, my Latin teacher was pretty laid back. She knew her stuff, but she was also fluent in sarcasm. Whenever we thought we were being smart, she'd go, "Cute," and then deliver some stunning comment. And when some underclassmen accidently hit me with a chalkboard eraser and I threw it back, just narrowly missing them on purpose, she claimed she hadn't seen anything, even though I was like 7 feet from her desk. *BG*

Now, the woman who would sub for her - she was like your Latin teacher. Not only insane, but bitter too, because she thought she should have gotten our teacher's job instead of just subbing. She was positive she was better than our regular teacher and we were all going "I don't think so" under our breaths.

Still, I can't exactly say our regular teacher was normal.
