No scorn nor pity on me take...
Sep. 7th, 2003 05:05 pmI have watched Sense and Sensibility four times this week (well, actually three, as last night I listened to the excellent commentary with Emma Thompson instead) and listened to the book on tape in my car. Yes, I really am that sad. *laughs* I just can't help myself, sometimes I get in these moods where I watch all 6 hours of Pride and Prejudice twice in a row or watch and read Persuasion at the same time...Jane Austen just infects the soul like a virus, and one can only wait till the happy illness is over. *grins* Besides, I don't think there's anything wrong with desiring to hear again and again 'My heart is, and always will be, yours'. Nothing wrong with it at all. :)
I must confess my newest guilty pleasure -- I have become a Bear in the Big Blue House devotee. *giggles* Bear is so utterly adorable, and I love the way the show talks to it's intended audience without ever being patronizing. (Of course it does, it's a Henson Studios production!) Plus the songs are actually really entertaining, with fun, clever lyrics, unlike the drivel that's on every other kids show. (*coughcoughTweeniesmustBURNcough*) And most importantly of all, they have purple otters! Wheee! If that isn't an endorsement to watch a tv series, I don't know what is. ;-)
Okay okay, there's one more guilty pleasure. I love Kim Possible. *hides* *laughs* Or rather, I love ubergeeky Ron Stoppable, Kim's sidekick. He's soooo cute! He plays D&D and quotes Star Trek and is just generally goofy. What's not to love?
And speaking of geeks, my other newest crush is Peter Parker on the new MTV Spiderman series. He is SO HOT, guhhh. It also helps that he has tawny eyes so he looks like my favourite Harry Potter artist's version of Professor Lupin. Woof! *giggles*
Welcome new friend
versaphile! She seems exceedingly nifty and likes all the same things I do, which shows she has exquisite taste. *grins impishly* It is a shame that I did not make her acquaintance earlier, for she lives in San Diego and I'm sure we would have had a great time if we met up at Comic Con. Ah well. *G*
Hmmm...anything else to say? Oh yes. 4 days till my birthday! Whooot.
I really need something to do so I don't feel lonely and depressed about not having anyone to share it with. Suggestions anyone? :)

Hello yourself :P
Date: 2003-09-12 03:02 pm (UTC)Also am indulging myself in the Drama troupe at school before I graduate, and am sharing your cartoon/children's show fanciment with Yu-Gi-Oh. I particularly am enamoured of MALIK and BAKURA! WOOOOOO!
yes'm! Anime is good! I refuse to be told I'm too old for it!
I just finished a good fantasy (and yaoi, at that!) series called the Last Herald Mage, but now I'm stuck reading stuff for school now that it's started. Although, I don't really miund reading Our Town and The Odyssey. The lists aren't too bad this year. I've recenbtly decided on ym future and so am studying my wits out to push meself along, languagewise. I'm going to be a writer, hopefully, with a degree in either Writing (that's a new one, and only in some schools. Depends on where I decide to go) or Journalism. And then after two or so years of experience in the field, hopefully I'll be hired into a fantasy section of a publishing company. But, uh, I still have way too much learning to do about what the hell I'm getting myself into, and I might change my mind again, but I doubt it this time.
So that's what I hope to do. Realizing the goial is another sytep altogether >.< Bugger to that. I'm still waiting for Extended TTT with impatience, and taking the days as they come. My city's pretty boring, but then that's probably got somethiong to do with the fact I'm not of legal drinking age yet and I can't afford a car yet either. Not that I'd want to drink; I don't. But 21 seems to be the age to get in a lot of interesting places. *shrug* ah well. I can wait a few more years ^^
How have *you* been? I only have a few hours of access a week, so I can no longer read my friendspage with the leisure I used to and seeeeee what everybody's got themselves into this time.
Not to mention papers, essays, projects, tests, and everyday hoemwork that they all throw in *grumblegrumble* So even if I had the internet access, I still wouldn't have my liesure time with LJ *grumble(to the tenth power)* gaaaaah >.
