neverwhere: (Pippin!)
[personal profile] neverwhere
Last night [livejournal.com profile] achtung_meggy came down to visit me in Hollywood after work, and we had a brilliant time, eating at a late night diner and laughing about everything and nothing (as usual) in our most geeky way. We also discovered that we just missed seeing Eddie Izzard that night, and the next two nights were sold out, which made us wail and moan (especially me, and quite loudly, to the bemusement of Megan) and feel generally annoyed. Phoo.

Megan also told me that A World Without Sundays (the kickass band that performed at the TORN Oscar Party) will be playing at a trendy nightclub on the Sunset Strip on saturday night, and after an entire day of deliberation, I finally bought my ticket about ten minutes ago. I really like this band, but I felt (and still do feel) too afraid to actually attend a concert, especially at such a swish club, surrounded by trendy people in all their trendy, anti-Nevvieness. I was literally shaking last night when Megan was trying to convince me to go, because I so fear being around teenagers and beautiful (or at least, interesting looking) twenty-somethings. I'm still considering not going, even though I've already paid for my ticket, I'm that nervous. Aren't I ridiculous? It doesn't help matters that it's a Halloween concert, and everyone's supposed to come in costume, and I have absolutely nothing to wear. I only have my faerie wings, which are sparkly and purple and therefore fabulous, but they're also very large and would hit anyone within several feet of me -- not the best way to make friends in a crowded venue, I'm sure.
Aiya, what to do? Help me LJ friends, you're my only hope!

Oh, and [livejournal.com profile] trianne or [livejournal.com profile] mailea -- Is Elijah in town? (Of course one of you would know. ;-) Any chance of him showing up at the concert? Probably not, unless he was in costume to avoid being pounced on by all the squealing fangirls. But if he is...I'll try and find him for you. *grins*

*looks at mood icon* Yes, I am a big, dorky dork. Go me. :)

I've seen him live, but not stand up -- he starred in the play Lenny several years ago in London, and I was lucky enough to score a seat with an exquistite view of his nekked self in the front row. Booyah! :D
(I honestly don't remember anything else about the play, except that I was impressed by his acting, because for the first half hour he was totally nude and nothing else really seemed to matter after that...*giggles*)

*laughs* I feel so cheated, I've only seen him in dresses ;) I'm sure you've seen his stand up on dvd or tv though right? :)

Oh yes of course! I have all the cds and dvds (Glorious is my favourite), and try to catch every film and tv appearance I can. He's the Sexie, after all. *grins*
